I like quiet and secure but desolate is where the party happens. So votes? I may take my kids on this one so may behave. If not they know who to call.

I checked the park, and there are no campsites available all weekend. My plan is to backtrack towards the park boundary while letting the midgunner and sweep lead the pack to Hwy 62 where they will air up, reconnect swaybars, and prepare for their drives home.

We'll set up our campsite in a spot that is removed from the main road and close to the action for day 2. We should hit the trail by 9 AM after an 8:30 AM Drivers Meeting.

You will be okay. You will need to avoid some of the asphalt sections where other JKUs get stuck, but that will be easy.

Please read the above run information.

Jeff
On the last run in 2013, we had a Hummer show up, and the driver had a great time.

A YJ with 31" tires will do great on this run. The rocks aren't big enough to cause problems. When Rock House Jeep Trail was still open, I drove a YJ on 31s over the trail, and it did real good!

Just a week and a half to go. Heres whose planning (and on the fence) to attend this fun trail run.

Ken & Leidys (Trailboss and the Wife)
Chris G. (friend driving up from T.J.)
Josh P. (JustRuns)
Slo Mo
Kmrtnsn – works next day at 0400hrs - maybe
Riverdude
Rvrabe – maybe
JK909
530ktm – maybe
Turdhurdler
IH8RDS – Sat/Sun
Rwill8751 – maybe
LBrito
Ditchdoc – Sat/Sun
Csumjr
Elmosyj
Proride
Sinisterphoto - +friend in Hummer
Tanks – 90% in

This run looks like it will be attended with 20 (or more) vehicles attending. Last year, we split the run into 2 groups. This year, with the help of a midgunner and a sweep we can keep the group together so that we can make better time in order that everyone can make Hwy 62 (outside Twentynine Palms) by 3:30 pm.

I plan on camping with Chris G. and a few others. For those camping, please bring a small amount of firewood for the camp. Temps will be in the 40s overnight.

Agenda:

Run begins at 9 AM - Saturday 18 Jan.

Drivers travel up Dillon Road to Berdoo Canyon Road where we will air down and disconnect swaybars (optional)

Day 1:
Trails - Berdoo Canyon Road - Geology Tour Road - Old Dale Rd -Gold Crown Rd.

Day 2:
Trails - Brooklyn Mine Jeep Trail [Finish running trails by 1 PM]

* Fee Free Day will not be until Jan. 20th -- be prepared to pay park fee if requested by Park Ranger.

Brooklyn Mine is a real fun trail with some healthy challenges! [Sunday only]

We'll see you there. Once we break for lunch, go have fun rock climbing. Be sure to purchase your park day pass for your day in JT or pay on your way out of the park at the kiosk.

Hello!

I would like to attend as well. I've been keeping up on this thread and have all of the details.

Pretty new at this, but sounds like a great entry level run. Is there anything else I need to do other than show up for the drivers meeting at 9am?

Thanks and looking forward to meeting everyone!

Please be sure to have a working CB radio and a full tank of gas. Lunch will be on the trail - there are no restroom facilities or fast food along the way. So, you will have to pack your lunch for the day. See you there!
