Joshua Tree run 8/30

Hello folks,

I'm relatively new to the forum and am looking to meet up with some locals.

I'm planning to do a run at Joshua Tree on Saturday Aug 30th if anyone is interested. Entering Berdoo Canyon Road and exiting Gold Canyon Road. Planning to be there all day and having lunch near Jumbo Rocks. I have a stock Rubicon and the trail is rated easy. Will be taking my 3.5 yr old son with me. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks!

You will enjoy the trail and the old cabins. It's a great run and very scenic. Done it twice and would do it again. Going fishing this weekend or I would go!
Have fun!!!

Cool, keep me posted. Although the trail is easy, I'd like to have one other rig with me in case something happens. We can also reschedule for another weekend in Sept. if more people can join in.

I'm thrilled to hear that it's a good run. I've been to JT several times for photography sessions but have never done the off-road trails. Thanks for the feedback.

I'd agree with csumgr, Loves truck stop is a good place to meet..it's definatley the closest spot to the trailhead..

I'm interested in this. Since it's a holiday weekend and a good drive for me I'd be looking to camp out. Any good recommendations?

Back to back runs, Charles the trip we went on last time was awsome!
I like the mining cabins and that trail is fun and scenic and for the overnighters great place to camp in the canyon. Ill check with wife, I have dinner plans down at the beach for that day, just have to convince her that this will be better!!!
Lol
I will remove all knives and scissors from the house on the 29th

I can't wait to get out there in the jeep, it's one of the main reasons I bought her. I love the desert especially at night. I'm just not ready yet with the work schedule.

Would love to read how it goes and see some photos if possible. Have a great time guys.

This sounds like a good one for my 9 year old son. Hes always asking "Are there going to be any kids there?" Its going to be be last minute for me though. I'm gonna see how hot it gets. I dont want any problems to come up and have to worry about my kid in the heat. If it stays in the low 90's I'm in. Ill plan on staying at least one night also.

It refers to Bureau of Land Management land - outside of Joshua Tree National Park. Campfires and open camping are allowed.
