Knoxville OHV area run: Father's Day weekend

My thoughts are this:
1. It's close enough for me to scout out the area.
2. It's closer to the Bay area and Sac valley for those traveling to the area.
3. Lake Berryessa is close for plenty of camping opportunities after the run.
4. Difficulty of trails to be determined with scouting trips
5. Make it a Saturday run for those who want to camp or have Fathers Day free.
6. Explore new territory(it's an ADVENTURE) guys!
7. We can start a little later in the day.

I'm thinking starting off in Lower Lake at a local pizza joint for an early lunch(11:30ish), then head out Morgan Valley Rd. to Knoxville. Spend some quality time on the trails (4-5hrs), then break off around 5-6ish where most can follow Morgan Valley road on out to 128 and either head to Napa or Vacaville way for home.

So, who'd be interested? Come on now, don't be shy!

I haven't been out there yet, so don't know how the trails are. Gene and Ninjamaster mentioned they've been out there once and the trails were not too bad. Gonna try to get out there in a week or so to do some scouting. Once I get a date to go out there, I'll post it up to see if anyone wants to join me.

I went to knoxville quite a bit when I was stationed out there. It's not a bad spot. The trails are pretty mild, most you won't need 4wd for. It is a very nice area tho. Have fun and take pics. I miss Cali.

I think you are thinking of Tennessee.

I will not be able to make it. Have a club function that weekend.

I know this run seems kinda short notice (a month away) since it took me two months to plan the Cow run, but if I plan a run much later, the heat is gonna be to much for anything inland. If I plan a July/August run, it will have to be a coastal region run.

I'm ok with that! I didn't buy this Jeep just so it can sit in the carport and look purdy!

Hey guys - my wife reminded me my in-laws are with us over Father's Day weekend....ugh. I'm dying to make a run with this group but the timing just isn't in my favor. A coastal run later in the summer sounds great. Sorry I'm backing out again

Sorry you can't make it JeepTh1ng. I totally understand, family comes first! That's the pitfall of planning these runs on holidays. We'll get you on one of these runs eventually! I've got a coastal themed run in mind for August, so mark your calendar, give me a date, and I'll try to plan for that date.

Thanks bobthetj03 - August 4th would work the best for me if it's good for others as well. My in-laws won't be with us Father's Day weekend now due to a terrible motorcycle accident yesterday leaving them both in critical condition. My wife was on the first flight out with a one way ticket so I may or may not be able to make the Father's Day run depending upon when she returns. Please add me as "hopeful" but mindful of my wife's needs before my own.

That's horrible news JeepTh1ng! Our prayers go out to your in-laws for a speedy recovery.

I won't include the "locals" to the list. Should have at least 3-4 local rigs going.
I know some are "tentative". that's ok we'll fine tune the list as the date approaches. Actually, I'm ok with a smaller group! The numbers on the last run was "INSANE"!
