All Terrain tires are excellent in sand. I would air down to 12 PSI and just float

exactly what bash said, your most likley gonna be out performing me out there.

AT aired down to 15psi and under will get you most places in 2wd in the dunes. Its gonna be a blast, we have like 15 vehicles going so far. Bad news is we just found out theres a massive car show going on the same weekend so hotel rooms are packed already. Ill be camping in the sand having huge bon fires at night.

THe car show doest effect the sand dunes at all but it makes town packed which will be fun if we wanna go check out some sweet rides.

The only thing you need to watch for in the dunes is the drop offs, dont just take off, you really need to watch where you going. in the last couple years weve only had 2 accidents, one was a friend in a quad going to fast and he fell off a dune ad the other was a truck in the middle of the day that lawn darted and wrecked his bumper. as far as getting stuck its just sand. a small tug and or shovel will get you out. weve winched before but only for fun

You will do great. I have a 4banger, on 33/12.5 muds, So i'm going to run like 12 psi and 4-lo.

8-10psi is good and 4lo is rarely necessary. I have run as low as 5-8 in the sand and never had a problem. At Pismo an 2WD aired down will go 95% a 4WD will go.

Back when I used to frequent Pismo (Late 80's early 90's) I had a LWB Toyota 4X with the 4 banger. It never had a problem that is, until alcohol was involved.

You'll figure all that out when you get there, it is a blast out there.

I'm driving out friday...probably in the morning. It would be nice if we have some gps coordinates of where to meet all. As the days get closer we'll figure out a good meeting spot.

The meeting spot will most likley be Pole 4 or 5 when you drie down the beach. you cant miss our group of jeeps and trucks. Most guys are leaving friday sometime the 20th and coming home whenever on sunday. we will do a night run on friday and saturday night and a morning run saturday. in the inbetween time we just do whatever we want, play with RC sand cars, quads, eat, eat more, catch some sun, catch some air, go into town whatever.
The "poles" are spaced out after the creek crossing on the beach. (if the creek is running) Ill pm you guys my cell number when i gets closer. so that way we can be on the look out for you guys.

Oh and for those who have never been. don't drive in the ocean, Ive seen guys lose there rigs to the waves and seen the rust caused by the salt water. I always wash the heck out of my jeep when i get home.

No ocean water for me. I'm a boater and in the salt water all summer. You DO NOT want salt water around your engine!

the trip was awesome, all of the fourwheeler guys showed up, I didnt see any of the JK or WF guys.

i arrived friday morning at 1am and was able to make it all the way to our campspot while towing the jeep on the flat bed. friday we continued to setup camp and watch the big boys get stuck trying to pull there trailers on the sand. Ome guys F250 caught on fire that was cool. later on we made a few runs out in the sand but there was a big lack if cameras. the sand was really soft this time out and it made things fun while trying to move things around and trying to help pull people out.

heres a couple pics.
