Local Jeep shop

I want to find somewhere locally to take my tj, for repairs or whatever needs fixing, upgrading, etc.

I have a dealership nearby, but they're a Chrysler-Dodge-Plymouth-Minivan-PTCruiser-300-Pickuptruck-......oh and Jeep Dealer. And I really don't trust them with anything more than recall work.

Does anyone have a trusted favorite local (L.A. - Orange County vacinity, I'd travel an hour if necessary) off-road/Jeep/4x4 shop that they would recommend ?

I've heard of a place called Scottys, don't know much about them. I've been to 4WheelParts, an ok place to buy stuff, I guess, but I don't know if I'd trust them for working on my vehicle.

So, is there a curse on Southern California for Jeep mechanic shops ? Do I have to go to 4wheelparts ?

It doesn't have to be a Jeep specific shop, if you go to a "off-road" shop to get your fixes & upgrades done, that'll work.

There's just some work that I don't want to tackle myself, like regearing.

if you need parts from a deler go to the dealer at the 57 and orangethorpe.
For gears there a shop on lambert next to the IN & out. they do axles and trannys.
I do most of my work myself. on ORW we have tech days to do maintenance work all in the OC area.

MOG, Scotty's is a Jeep "junkyard". It's a good place to buy used parts if you can't find them elsewhere. I got my half doors there, they are in Fontana.

It really depends on what you are looking for. For mods, lifts and fab work I like AllJ (boulderbars.com) in Colton. Quinn does good work. He recently finished an nTH degree stretch on his TJ.

For warranty stuff I go to the dealer. For welding and a few other things I go to a local auto shop in Chino owned by a fellow jeeper. Everything else I do myself. There are a ton of places around here to have work done, here are a few in the LA/OC/IE I have heard good things about:

4xdoctor - Burbank
All J products - Colton
JCFab - Sylmar
Off Road Unlimited -Burbank.
Currie Enterprises - Anaheim
Tri County Gear - Pomona

Rawkon, do you know the name of the shop on Lambert? Are their rates good? Tri-county charges too much for my blood and my local shop can't get to my gears for a few weeks.

The dealer you mentioned is the new Don-A-Vee. The parts guy is pretty good, but so far this is definitely not the Don-A-Vee of yesteryear.

Don't forget All 4 wheel over in Corona. Off the 15 and I think it is Cajalco or Weirick. I can find the number later if you want it. I have never been there, but been recommended it several times from other jeepers.

I know this is a 3-year old thread but i believe old threads are the ones folks should trust. Im a newbie to this club and im looking for a list of Ohio auto repair services....Any list could do as long as it include the reputable auto service centers in the place. thanks in advance.
Welcome to WF. I would suggest posting your question in the Ohio Jeep Forum . You'll probably get a better response there. Good luck.

Regarding trusted Orange County Jeep repair and fab shops. I have my work done on my 03 Rubi at T and J Performance. They are in the City of Orange off Collins and south of Main street a few blocks. ask for Max 714 633 0991. Hope this helps.

also can anyone instruct me how to get a picture on as my icon. I'm tired of not having anything.
