Hey guys, looking for a place to do tent camping with restrooms and running water. I live in Moreno valley and I'm thinking a 50 mile radius at most.
Any suggestions?

i just spoke with the san bernadino forrest service, and the lady i spoke to said that there are 4 camp sites still open including holcomb. she did not reccomend trying to get back there because of the snow, but i also did not mention i had 4 wheel drive and 35" tires. the fire road in from the 38 is not steep except for one place i remember.

im going to call the discovery center on thursday to check conditions, but i think the jeep can make it back there in the snow. there are few fire roads to choose from to get back there. last time there were covered in snow.

any chance you want to venture up friday to sunday, it would be good to have to jeeps to get back there.

bring a good sleeping bag, at least 0 degrees, thermals and layer up, lots of fire wood. i usualy collect down wood from the woods but may be hard to find covered in snow.
OK bean. If you wanna do Friday through Sunday I can do that. I'll pm you my number

just spoke with the discovery center and holcomb is open. i asked her about the conditions of the fire road with the snow, and it is getting warm there during the days this weekend. she said if we hve 4 wheel drive and snow tires we should be able to get back there. the snow will probably be wet, and not icy when we go back tomorow afternoon.

anyone else up for snow camping, we are looking at lows in the low 20's at night.
