Loon Lake Snow Run

This will be a snow run (Weather Permitting) that would start in Georgetown and then head out to Loon Lake. We would take Wentworth Springs Rd. The whole trip would be paved but with any luck it will be covered in snow. I did this trip Last year and it took us no time to get to Stumpy Meadows Lake, but once past the dam we were on snow the rest of the way.
This would be open to anyone and everyone. It will not be a hardcore or anything. When we went there was like 9 jeeps and everyone but two got stuck.
I was thinking the 26 of January 2013 for this run, but this date can be changed if we need it to be.

Me and 6 of my friends did that run last year. The snow was good from Uncle Toms cabin on. It's a fun snow run. I'm up for that run again if there is snow.

Man this looks like fun. Snow wheeling and snow camping. Too far for me though, but I'll look forward to seeing the pics. Have fun!

We do some pretty heavy snow wheeling. We have had to leave Spencer's jeep at the bottom of the hill a few times.

I cannot make it unless the date changes. I am doing snow patrol over on MET (Mormon emigrant trail.) Have a fun trip! I have been that way many times. Mother nature will determine how far you go. Stop in at Uncle Tom's Cabin if you make it that far.

Looks like we are going to be moving it to the 19.

Departure time - 9AM, Meet up at Georgetown Market between 830 and 9AM.
Location: Georgetown Market., one block east of the Main St./Wentworth Springs Rd. intersection with Hwy 193

This will be a "go as far as we can get and then turn around" type of run. Everyone is welcome, but I do suggest you bring a recovery strap and have both front and rear recovery points as there will probably be lots of recovering going on. Bring a lunch and snacks + water. You can purchase sandwiches at the market for your lunch as well

I'm kickin' myself for not making that JKO snow run last year. Come hell or high water I'm going to make *SOME* snow run this winter sometime before the desert trip for KoH!
