I was just looking up some maps because 2N89 looks like it runs along the tracks to the 3N49 cut-off and farther to Hwy 138.
Look what I found: San Bernardino National Forest - Maps & Publications
Everyone needs to down load the SB North and South maps. You can zoom and print current page for any section of the maps. Sooooo Coooool!

Still don't know and the ranger station is closed. Opens at 8 AM. If I get there early enough I may go see the ranger first.

Tried to figure trail miles, approx 50-60. We should be lunching at a train look-out by 11 or 12.

Plan to leave at 9:00 AM up Lytle Creek Road to 2N79. Since this is an easy ride might not even have to air down, but you can to say 15-20 psi for a smoother ride. Like I said before, would like to maybe do lunch in Wrightwood and stop to watch trains. Bring your cameras and telephoto lens if your taking train pics, or any pics for that matter. Maybe, if there is time, Cleghorn (2N47) up and back, before we part ways. Oh, and of course, you can still take your tops off, or at least pull em down. Here is a link to a map mock-up. https://picasaweb.google.com/Parentz...eat=directlink Who will be add to the list? RKCWLER MrBigfoot ? JK909 ? tj-jeepgirl ? Sinisterphoto ? toad ? JRivera ? Thanks for making this an excellent Sunday trail ride. Happy to have met you all; Mark and his wife, Jason, Chris and his buddies, and Phil and his wife. I hope you enjoyed the adventure and having lunch while watching the trains race. Although, it was unfair because the one was at least double the length of the other.

Enjoy the pics.

Thanks to Christine, her friend (Animal , he eats boulders and spits them out!)) and cousin? for waiting and leading us up over Cleghorn to Silverwood Lake. Sure wanted to do more side trips, but none were as good as the first one.

Here are some pics.

Great day, the wife and I had a great time and we even tried a couple of the offshoots.
Here are the few photos I took. I'm also uploading a short video which I'll post probably in the morning.
cleghorn

Also, Sat the 31st, another group is doing a run from Yucca to Big Bear and I'll be there, so if anyone wants to join, you are welcomed. Check out the tread "Backwards". We did Joshua Tree about a month ago, and it was a lot of fun.

So when is the next run up here? Just got my JKU need to get some dirt on it! I'm a n00b and might need some hand-holding but I'm reading most of these trails are easy - just my speed.

I was just thinking about this on Friday. It's cooling off a bit and would be nice to get up there again. Even cross over to Cleghorn with all the by-passes, it will make an easy fun-filled day.
I'm still working on the house, painting, etc., but maybe Saturday, Oct 25th or Nov 1st? Or Sunday the 26th or 2nd?

i'm free any of these days.. also, since I live 5 minutes away, I'm free most days for a last-minute run during the week!
