The only problem is my one friends license is suspended, and the others car is broken and I haven't got to fixing it...

I'm not worried about food, I'm more concerned about everything flying out of the back of the Jeep. Remember, I don't have windows lol.

So far the list is:
Cooler with food and CAT WINE and other drinks.
Toolbox
Toiletries
Sleeping arrangements for 3 people.

I'm really only worried about sleeping arrangements.

I've got an extra decent sized tent and a double inflatable bed if you want me to bring it.

Was 99% sure you were going to change your mind if you hadn't already done so. Welcome to WF Sky, and glad you're stll onboard..

Miller is nothing compared to Calico..but sometimes, it just ain't all about the rocks.

We're going to chat about Calico while we're camping ...I want to get out there before everyone starts belly-achin' about the heat..And, Voltron - Natedog (FJ) hasn't been yet...

Well I was going to wait another few weeks until I got some more wrench time on the Heep, but I figured that Miller is an easy enough trail that I won't do any damage and plus, I haven't been wheeling in almost a year so I have no real reasons not to go... AND it's a long weekend.

Got another dang fire..evacuated HV today..I'll be calling Ranger Rick later next week to make sure we can still stay at Sky ranch and have a fire. Worst case scenerio is we end up at the campground right below it; which really isn't that bad. It's Way better than staying in HV, that's for sure.

Been checking weather too..could be better, could be worse.

Not too familiar with the area but my guess is it would depend on the direction of the wind. If it is blowing up there, it may not even be open.

That would not be good--for many reasons.

I'm sure it'll be fine by next weekend..I'll call.

Plan B can be Calico...but I really don't think we're going to have a problem at Miller.

I know Sky wants to do Calico...

Brett- Joey?

It's going to be low 60's on the mountain Between the fire and "pants" weather, Sky's got me thinking about sunny Calico.

What do you guys think..open to a change of plans? We may not have a choice...and if it is realy ashy, yuck. I'm going to call the Ranger station today and ask some questions.

Joey...you can do Calico with a strap in a couple places. I wouldn't want you attempting some of it without the assistance of a strap, but the rest you can do.....or you can ride with someone..You have sliders? Were you lifted at all? I don't remember..

This is one of the benefits of a smaller group this time.

Sky..looks like a maybe so far..this trip was ultimately for Bernie and V, they're in..

You know the Weather always wins me over

Brett--your rig is GTG right? Lifted, sliders and you've got 33's?

Spoke to ranger rick-fire conditions/miller update

Ok guys..just off the phone with Ranger Rick!

If the fire goes anywhere close to Miller, they will close that section of the mountain to rehab her. Only 10% contained right now. He will know more by Monday.

The fire must be completely out and rehab needs not to be around that area. We can wait and see, or we can switch plans...my only thng is, Joey. I don't want to squeeze someone out who wants to go wheeling if we're still able to do Miller (if he can't do Calico for whatever reason)

We can wait until Monday or Tuesday and then decide ? Winds are a major factor right now and they will be kicking up this afternoon. Fire can go any direction..

I'm fine with Calico. It's pretty much good to go, lifted, sliders, but still on 31s. I'll just need to be picky with my lines and take it slow.

I think I should be fine for the most part, I've run some of calico before back when I was stock. I obviously stayed away from some stuff. We'll just see how things go! I'm hoping by early next year I'll be on 33s. The main thing right now is just beefing up my rear axle just a little bit so I don't grenade parts.

So you're good for Miller but don't know if you can go to Calico?

It's by Barstow. You can mapquest this address.
36600 Ghost Town Road
Yermo, CA 92398

The Ghost Town is 100 yards from where we camp and the trails.

I'm going to call Ranger Rick next week and see where things stand for Miller..
