I'm gonna sleep in a bit tomorrow morning, then head straight to camp. I plan to be there around 1:00pm, unless I get stuck going up the fire road in my big heavy 2WD truck.

Doh ! Sorry, I thought you are asking about quick disconnects. I'll just shut up now

I've only been down that fire road a couple of times and I don't remember how bad/good it is. Do you guys think a small trailer with regular street tires would make it up there? It weighs about 600-800 lbs. I just bought it, so I'm dying to take it out.

It has a bad ass sound system, so if I bring it, we'll have good sounds

Here's a pic

If the road's dry it should probably be okay. At least that's what I'm hoping, because I'll be worse off than you with the weight (7000+ lbs) of my big 2WD truck.

Man, I so wish I could go up there for camping tonight too but life is getting in the way. Sometimes I wish I was unemployed and homeless... with a paid off Jeep and a free gas card of course!

I see the Jeep, but I think he's asleep

See you guys at the Flying J tomorrow

There usually isn't anyone else camping up there, even when it's warmer. That's partly why we like that campsite.

How was the fire road going up there. Am I gonna have any problems with my big heavy 2WD truck?

Well guys, sorry we had to bug out early last night. Our tent failed, then I woke up sick... and didn't make it outside which made the wife VERY HAPPY. So those two items along with the freezing temperatures made the decision of leaving pretty easy. I packed it all up so she could drive us to my parents house so we could sleep. Anyways, I'm pretty sure I got everything except for my cell phone, a blackberry. If anyone found it and has it, let me know and I'll come get it. If not, no worries... it's my own damn fault.

Wow sounds like it got really cold there. What is Miller like? I'd like to run it sometime, just haven't had the opportunity when the timing was right.

Miller is very fun and not very hard. it closes for the winter the first big snowfall so if you can't get up there soon it won't be open until next spring. it was snowing pretty good when we left.

No never been there. Just read about it though, and it sounds like fun. Keep me posted and maybe I'll be able to make it.

My friend is going to Calico with another Jeep group on December 8th weekend. I was thinking about doing that. If anyone wants to go, let me know and I'll give you the details.

I had a great time as usual folks, even though I couldn't join you on the trail. Sorry about the flat tires, and sorry 2deuce2 that you didn't have a good night.

Here are a few pictures from camp.

That's okay. I did it to myself. That damn Honey is so good... but I think I am going to have to preset a limit for myself.

The rainfly on our tent flew off and the whole thing is open air without it. The freezing fog had us and everything inside covered in a frozen frost. We were freezing. It was kind of a blessing in disguise. Ellen got me to pack it all up and she drove to my parents house in Castaic and slept the rest of the night in a nice warm bed. That fire road out of there is a whole different animal at night in the fog. It was a long ride out of there.

I love how that picture of JK38's rig with my spare wheel came out. I didn't think it was going to show. He came out to my house tonight and we installed all of my old wheels and tires so he should be good for the next run. Hopefully we can figure out a better way to disconnect his sways without them ripping open his inboard sidewalls.

I had a great time thank you everyone for your help, generosity and most of all patience. It was great meeting everyone and I am still amazed how great everyone was out there. Thanks Deuce for the new shoes, I'm loving them, and thanks for lending me that spare. It's great to already know how my rig will look when I upgrade to 33s! Thank you Beantown for the excellent spotting and gettig me through without any bumps or bruises. The stew was awesome and perfect for the weather. Thanks again everyone.
