whats BC109? the message i got says its open

Check in at 8am for an update. we will meet at hungry valley or flying Js if lockwood side is open
BC109 is a large dry creek bed up Lckwood Valley road a few miles before H33. Being a creek bed it changes year to year, but it is a great place for mildly built as well as well built rigs to wheel within feet of each other each pushing themselves. Some good video on YouTube. Campground too, although kind of dry like HV.

just for the record, I've run Holcomb. It was a bear, and I had to get a tug or two, but I made it That's also where I had the famous flat tire... Man, that was a day!

I hope miller is open tomorrow though, been looking forward to checking that out. BC109 sounds pretty sweet too though.

I finally just got my rock sliders on, what a PitA to get those bastards on.

Anyways, BB is too far for me for a day trip. I would much rather just see what happens tomorrow. Hopefully Miller is open, if not some of the other ideas sounded cool too.

As for an air compressor, I do not have one yet, it's on my list of things to get next paycheck.

If possible, can you post the update on this thread tomorrow morning. I will check it first thing.

I'm for taking a chance on Miller as well and going from there. I'll PM my number and check the thread in the am.
After all, it's the journey, not the destination...

Just got home a few minutes ago. Wanted to throw a big thank you out to everyone today. IT WAS AWESOME.

I had a great time on my first run, broke in the skid plates (got a really good dent on the gas tank one) and rock sliders. Everyone was awesome, thank you all for the help with deflating/inflating tires and the help with my disconnects.

Lesson learned from the day. Rocks are friends, also, get quick disconnects.

So when do we go out next?

This was a fun run, the whole area was like a giant sandbox for us to play in.

Always fun running with the old crowd, and very cool meeting some new folks I haven't Jeep'd with before.

My lesson learned today is NEVER to get Flying J gas again. My Jeep hated it, and sputtered and stalled every time it tried to climb anything.

Here are a few pics I took:

BTW, the coordinates of the spot where we turned around on that one trail are:

N34 45.271, W119 15.491

Putting those in Google maps shows that it continued for a few more twists and turns. We were about 2/3 of the way down the trail I think.

Thumbs up Loads of Fun

Had a great time! Glad I could finally make a run with our local WF members. It was great meeting you all!

Good fun today, glad to see folks with a variety of skill levels come out and play!

Here are some shots from the day:

Three wheeling!

Up and over...

Next in line:

Oh, there's a rock there? Couldn't tell...

Had to give it a shot myself... not bad AEV, decent amount of flex

I've seen a few people ask if the ACE Sliders are up to the task. Since I'd only previously lifted the jeep from one of them, decided to drive straight down on one to test them against a real rock impact. Some minor damage to the finish, but they hold up to the rocks like champs.

More good flex:

And here's a Jeep that shines... no, really, it still shines from being brand spankin' new.

And this is how you break em in!

More pics:

Beastly! Makes it look like a pebble...

Caution: Axles X-ing

Someone get under there and give the Jeep a belly rub!

Cakewalk...

Traditional Jeep Park job. Better than a wheel chock.

Red, White, and Blue... it is July, after all.

Rock Rail, meet Rock. Get comfy with each other!

Thanks for lending me your toys, gents! Can't believe I forgot mine. Airing back up..

And back on the pavement!

I bet the night sky was awesome. How did you like the campground? Did you go dip in the creek? There is also a trail hike of ~9 miles each way to some hotsprings.

I've been using Ace rails for about 6 months now. They definitely hold up and take abuse. I've slammed on mine HARD and have only scratched them. The only disadvantage they have is that you lose a little ground clearance because the bolt on below the Rubi rails. So you always end up on them.

I got them because my wife wanted a step. So if you need/want one that can be used as a step, they're great.
