Miller Jeep Trail 9/01/12

Any one up for running Miller Jeep Trail on Saturday 09/01?

Run it sometime in the morning, but time is flexible as of right now. If anyone's up for it, post up!

Open to a Friday or Sunday run, too. Whatever works, I just plan on getting her dirty all weekend one way or another, even if I have to scoop dirt from the backyard and toss it on in the driveway!

Alright, keep me posted.

As far as timing goes, I was thinking of hitting the trail head around 10am. Will post up details on Thursday and see who is on board and finalize the times.

I'm thinking of wheeling all weekend, so if anyone is up for some last minute stuff on any of the other days, just post up. I'll keep my eye out on what everyone else is up to.

Alright, Saturday it is then.

I suggest we meet at the Flying J in Lebec at around 9:30am and head from there.

For Comms I have CB, Ham, and FRS handhelds that I don't normally bring but can.
Suggest

CB: CH 14
Ham: 146.46MHz Simplex

I'll PM everyone my cell number, too.

Camping: How's everybody feeling on it? Day run or camp? or Glamp? I can bring my m416 trailer if we do like HV. But home isn't too far for me either, so anything goes.

I'm packing my camping gear and supplies. We can decide Saturday though if its just the 2 of our Jeeps, see how we feel about it and if the timing works out. It is a holiday weekend though, so that may impact the ability to get a spot.

Ok finalized plan of attack for our group. We will be heading up late, probably arrive at HV around 3 ish. We will camp for the night at one of the 4x4 campgrounds in the forest, hidden in valleys so should be cool, and then hit Lockwood/Miller Sunday morning.
We will be meeting more folks at Flying J Sunday morning at 9 before heading up to trail head.
Not hijacking this thread but letting you know so you do not wait up for me. We may see you in HV unless you camp up top of the mountain. You also can run it again Sunday with us if you would like. Have fun and be safe fellas.

What a great week-end. Camping and wheeling was a real kick in the pants.
Broke my cherry on Lockwood and miller...... With really cool down to earth wheelers...

Awesome time. Glad you stayed the extra night too. How bad was the house when you got home?
This is the way wheeling trips are supposed to be, no drama, the group stays together, and everyone can set up and break down their own stuff :P
Must do it again

Fantastic week-end. Great wheeling and way to much laughter. We need to set up a Death Valley trip later this year and a snow camping trip.

XJman1 - please email me the photo of us all heading up miller. I am framing that one

Pic sent.

Thanks to Rob's sluice run I think I have my build plan aligned again. Keep my current lift to keep driveline changes minimal and MetalCloak fenders and rocker guards so I can fit either 33's or maybe, just maybe, 35's. That was an awesome run, sorry about the need for touch up paint oh yeah and the hole in your seat cover. LOL

The seat cover was the rock wall that I was goaded into doing. A little pucker but was a great feeling to conquer it.
the sluice was all spotter. You da man.

For those that haven't been in awhile the sluice in the 4x4 Training area is now a real challenge.

Yeah, that wall is interesting, especially on mall crawler 31's. LOL Dan seemed to enjoy the ride.

Disclaimer, I am not about to try the sluice on my little 31's though.
