Motino Wash 9/7 or 9/8

I enjoyed Motino a lot last time so I'd like to head up again on either 9/7 or 9/8. After the recent storms up there I imagine the trail has changed since I ran it in July.

Should be cool enough out. Last time in the middle of the trail my GPS read 5600'.

Requirements:

33" Tires
1 locker (2 reccomended)
Skidplates
Rock sliders (If you care about such things)

Be aware that body/top damage is a real possibility on this trail.

If there's any interest we can figure out a meeting place/time.

I too enjoyed Mottino the last time we ran it. You can put me down as a firm maybe for either one of those days (if I don't break anything between now and then).

I've checked with a couple other "I wanna go" wheelers. They both said Sunday would work best for them. If that works out, we would love to wheel with you again.

This trail definetly has the advantage for the TJ with the short wheelbase and being more narrow, but the JKs did good.

This is one of my favorites so Ill always be up for it.

Okay Mr. Moabrubi - So far, we have three from our side of the mountain meeting up about 7:00 a.m. at the 247 Cafe in Lucerne Valley, on the morning of Sunday, Sept 9th in order to make the trail head before 9. How does that line up with your plans?

Works for me. I'll meet you all at the Cafe like last time.

Looking forward to it. I'm in no rush to get to the trailhead at any particular time though. I'm sure we will have time to do something afterwards as well.

The only reason I would want to get an early start, is to get a little way "UP" the hill before it starts getting hot over there. You know how it do?

Too bad. I just got word that the trail has been extensively remodeled in a good way. He ran it last night and said it was muddy, slippery, and lots of banging on rocks . Hes rolling in a TJ on 37s too, said it's the most fun hes had on Motino.

I'm excited, should be fun. Probably won't be a whole lot of water left unless another storm rolls through.

I don't know who they all are, but when I talked with Steve yesterday, he said there will be 6 or 8 rigs so far.

Good, if I was leading we would probably get lost! Lol.

Sounds like we have quite a group, Hopefully mother nature doesn't bring any big surprises! According to the weather report there are T-storms until Wednesday and we are clear for Sunday, wouldn't want to be in that canyon during a flash flood

could be tricky trying to tie on to one of those boulders waiting for the storm to pass, especially with half a dozen rigs floating around

Some of the reports say sunny, others say chance of T-Storms..? Hmmm guess the weather people don't check with eachother!

That time of yr for afternoon T-storms. Observing from the AV it appears that area starts getting cloudy around 2PM. Channel 2 evening weather bunny stated nothing about T-storms. Then again there is a reason why they are called weather GUESSERs.

I can tell you the flash floods that Nightmare canyon has been experiencing did done an extensive remodel of that canyon as well.

Well, I was wanting to go, but I'm gonna have to wuss out, because I've got to load and go north on sunday. I.m still looking forward to seeing the rest of motino one of these days. You all have fun up there, and Steve, don't let Bill wuss out again. Mark and Candy(she couldn't go anyhow, because she's waiting on the call from our daughter about the birth of our 2nd grandson). Happy Trails.
