Definently.....they have been amazing.

These have been at the hammers a lot before I got them from a buddy....he was missing a few then in the last 2 trips I got on it in the rocks to get over stuff and ripped em up....so I haven't been as careful as I normally am knowing these are go e on the 16th.....

I've ripped lugs on kevlars and toyos so any wheeling and low brain activity will destroy tires...

I love the KM2's as well, but they are a soft tire. I hear the BFG Crawlers are better compound, but really pricey. I may try a set of BFG projects and see how they do. You can pick them up cheap with about 75% tread on them. I have found them for $100.00 a tire on race desert.

Are they sized better...?
I find that bfg's are almost 2 sizes smaller than what's on the tire....and the sidewalls are paper thin too...
I'll take a bias tire over a radial for it flex, lightness and puncher resistance any day...

I think they are sized the same. The projects are there desert race tire. They are a lot stronger than other BFG tires. I was thinking about going to 39.5" projects, when I tear up the KM2's I have now.

If you can get projects, they are actually a really good tire. The army uses them a lot and I have put many of them through hell and back ...

You can find used 37" from the military for really cheap ... but you'd have to have a 16.5 inch rim

Shortly after the main event I noticed some nice extra Extra points that involved some hefty rocks to crawl over to get back down to the road....needless to say one of the found my rear pumpkin....

Luckily Phil was there to give me a tug...

Didn't get a lot of pics but did get one of some sidewall getting pushed over by the rock....love beadlocks.....

And wife got mad so had to let scott go on the first extra credit line...

Did a couple other off shoots and the wife just got out at that point...this is why I don't take her...she is allergic to roll overs and breakage....it causes severe nagging lol...

I had a great time and forgot how good this trail is! It is high on my favorite trail list for sure....We had a good group and aside from a rock sliced tire and broken trac bar, we got through with very little damage. Special thanks to Steve, he knows this trail well and was key in helping everyone through and also to Mark & Candy for cutting their day off very early by escorting out the wounded jeep.

All in all a great day, thanks to all for showing up on time and ready to rock.... Lets do it again! I didn't take too many pics and none that are any better that what Russ posted, but I know Jen was getting around with the camera.... Maybe she has some to share...

Thanx for putting this run together Bill. My first time in the canyon. I'll be back. Hope it is with a lot of the same people (maybe a little closer to Christmas time & somewhat cooler weather).

Hey Art....do to us running low on time ....I only aloud an hour to get from 247 cafe to the mouth of Matino...we had to skip it this time.
I'm thinking early fall we'll get back up that way and run Arraster wash....some really good wheelin up the canyon past the rattlesnake canyon split...

Some editing is in order on the videos I took. I won't have much time in the next couple of weeks so the plan is to put up quick videos of whatever doesn't need editing. I'll make the limited edition Mottino movie & soundtrack later- I did get some good stuff.
Fun time on the trail even as a passenger. Thanks to Jim for the ride and Bill for putting the run together. And Steve.
Did anyone hear from Mark and/or the guy with the broken track bar?

Mark and candy got lost with scott they ended up in lucern valley....

Walked into a bar and asked if anyone knew anyone who welded....so someone knew someone and they welded it up (hack job) for a temporary fix to get him home....he went and chilled out over at the hammer trails for a bit then headed to camp grabbed his top and doors and proceeded home....

Lol. All worked out so he should be getting it fixed this week the right way.

Yea I missed a turn back to bb and we ended up going into Pioneer town(not Lucerne valley), which was a lot shorter then going back to bb, and yucca valley is just down the road from there. At pioneer town we went into pappy and harriats(restaurant/bar/live band) looking for some local knowledge and maybe a phone book. And by the way, if your ever looking for a little getaway check out pioneer town. Candy and I spent one night there in the little motel which is right behind pap & harr and had a great time. The food was good the band was good and the bar was good. We met people there with names like shifter, jerry, and a dog named fudge. Now, where was I. Oh yea, we met Lynn(who owns a consignment shop in yucca), who was at the bar who had a neighbor who welded. He escorted us down the road to hwy 62 where he lived off of in some really nice houses, which I didn't know existed up there. Once there we met his retired neighbor Ed, a old drag racer who likes to golf and a very interesting person who has quite a nice shop. And by the way, if anybody is looking for a seven and a half second door slammer, he's got a beautiful one for sale. So while Ed was taking care of Scott, I hit a few balls into Eds homemade driving range(which reminds me, I really need to work on my game more). Ed had this hugh contraption that I'll call a pool ball roller coaster that he built in 6 months. After Scott generously compensated Ed for his time, I asked him if I could see this thing operate which put a big smile on his face. He flipped a switch and pool balls started going up the conveyor exiting on top and going down all sorts of different paths. It really was amazing. From there Scott went back to bb via the backside and we went home. It really was a unique day and a good day because there really are a lot of good people out there. I called Scott on Sunday and he made it home alright. Looking forward to the next one. Mark and Candy.

Crazy story Mark! I would've loved to see the 'pool ball' contraption. I used to play pool all the time.

That was definitely nice of you to help out. I probably would've gotten lost too. Motino is so far out there!

I swear that giant rock moved on purpose and attacked my license plate!

That was a great trail! I definitely want to go back soon and take some of the more challenging lines.

I've got a stock license plate holder sitting in my garage if you want it... I can give it to you at the M&G
