Xjrichard and I have spent some time on another forum where they'd send XJs on 32s and open diffs through a trail like this and spend 10 hours doing it. That's not fun in my book.

I'd say given Stan's seat time on the trail if he says you're ready then welcome aboard!!!
Btw, I appreciate that you gave a "strong side" overview. I tend to "over rate" a trail as opposed to under rating it for the same reasons you mention. I would rather have someone say it was easier than they expected as opposed to hurting their Jeep or being in a position they werent comfortable in. The problem is that when you say "You should have at least one locker and 33" min tires to run John Bull" someone comes on and says "So & so ran that trail on stock tires, no lockers and never put it in 4 low". Just my two cents, looking forward to hitting this trail...

Ok, you can take me off the maybe list and put me down for "IN". Also add one more jeep to the mix as my friend will be coming too!

Funny you should mention this. When I did a JB run on another forum a few weeks ago, I had suggested similar requirements + suggested aftermarket diff covers and skids. Someone gave me flack and talked a few stockers into going.

Long story short, long day on the trail. Some body damage+ to a stocker that had a JKU and the factory plastic steps instead of rails.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should...

My comment is usually that if someone wants to give you $5000 cash to hold until the end of the run to cover repairs, GO FOR IT!

Yep.

Problems are when others override what the op is looking for in the run. Never understood why guys do that.

The lead guy (OP) makes the determination on rigs he wants for the run. Not the join in guy who's the world's greatest spotter and took a stock Subaru through JB or the hammers one time. We all know stock jeeps are capable, sometimes we don't want to burn the whole day spotting and stacking rocks. Or being the OP called out for damages, for others invites contrary to the op suggested.

Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and new ones, sunday.

Hope u can make it D & D (2a, Pluke & ur dad). Hope your doing good Stan & hope to see ya there buddy.

My thinking is... I don't want to spend the day seeing if YOU can make it. I know I'm good...

Yes, the ranger station off 38, just up from Yucaipa/Mentone. We will meet at 8am and leave at 8:30. There are still some maybes in there that need to confirm...

Are you set on the 8 am meeting time? We have a couple guys coming from LA area that would really like a bit later start time if possible. I certainly don't mind if others don't.

Well, I suppose we can be a little accommodating but at the same time this is a big group on a tough trail. The actual trailhead is a ways off the hwy too. Let's make the meeting time 8:30 and the departure time 9am. Although its just a 30 minute adjustment, those traveling further technically have until 9.

Ok, so 8:30 meet up time and 9am departure time. Hopefully everyone checks this before rolling out.

Any "maybes" noted above please confirm if you are planning to make it otherwise we won't be expecting you.

Let's have some fun tomorrow!!!

Thanks for a great run guys & gals! It had been awhile since Rich & I last ran this one and now I'm thinking I didn't overrate it at all in my original description. It's a rough son of a....

It was a fun trip down the hill on just my front brakes too. Big thanks to Buck for the assistance today and to the rest of you who lent a hand.

Well, after a trip to G&J for a brake line I'll be on the hunt for another 35" BFG KM1. Then I think I'm going to post up a Cougar Buttes run.

Anyway, it was great meeting all of you. Richard and I have been looking for a good group to wheel with and I think we've found it.

I saw lots of cameras clicking away so I expect to see 'em posted up soon. I'm gonna try to get mine uploaded tonight.
