It was a fun trip down the hill on just my front brakes too. Big thanks to Buck for the assistance today and to the rest of you who lent a hand.

Well, after a trip to G&J for a brake line I'll be on the hunt for another 35" BFG KM1. Then I think I'm going to post up a Cougar Buttes run.

Anyway, it was great meeting all of you. Richard and I have been looking for a good group to wheel with and I think we've found it.

I saw lots of cameras clicking away so I expect to see 'em posted up soon. I'm gonna try to get mine uploaded tonight.
Great trail. Great group. The quality of the people in the Jeep community is just unbelievable. I knew most of you already, and the ones I didn't know before, I know now. I love this process of meeting someone In the morning and knowing that person in the afternoon.

On the tail, in the back, we had two flats and one mechanical break. We also had the winch come out twice. It was one of the best trail days ever. Thanks to everyone.

No worries. Don't make a special trip. They will find their way home.

Thanks for showing me the lines through this trail. Following you through was a pleasure.

Good run. Looks like I should have skipped on the lead spot, missed out on being in pics!. Nice pics. Great meeting u guys and a good trail run. Great seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones.

Glad u got the hose taken care of. If it wasn't for that, I was gonna suggest us yucaipians grab some grub and brews at Fuentes. Figured it was a little late though on a Sunday for that.

Great run and a real good group! I think the trail was rated pretty acurately. I know I added a couple beauty marks to the Jeep It reminded me a bit of Calico. The trail is very deep in and out, I think next time I may try going out through Pioneer town, I think a couple of people made that loop today...

I will keep an eye out for your Cougar Buttes run as I havent run that trail either..

What a great Sunday. I was nervous about doing this run, but I’m so glad I did! Went up some things I never thought my jeep could do. The weather was perfect. No rain on the way up, and plenty of sun in the mountains. Mottino Wash is very scenic once you took your eyes off the trail. But for the most part, this trail demanded your attention. It was just one obstacle after another after another. With no clear path, you had to work to pick your lines. Kinda gave you the feeling you were among the first to do this trail. But be warned, this trail is in the middle of nowhere. If you have a problem you best be well prepared. We did not see anyone anywhere near this trail and you can forget about walking out. We did have a few problems (tires and brakes), but the group had both the parts and the knowhow. It was such a great group of people which I’m learning makes jeeping, “Jeeping”. It was a pleasure jeeping with you all!
BTW, we ended the ride with pizza and beer and did not get a chance to even see our pics. I will post them as soon as I get a chance.

Well I have now run these back to back (not same day) and I would say this has more obstacles in a shorter distance than Jb. This is a few miles long of all rock garden but it doesn't have the constant uphill grade that Jb has but it does have many step ups that can be a bit gut wrenching at times. Narrow in many sections and tight corners made it nice to have a tj but some step ups that made it nice to have a longer jeep. This trail is very far off the 38 2N01 bout 45min and the scenery is diverse as u get closer. Your closer to the 247 than any other hwy. all in all this trail to me was more challenging than John Bull.

I would agree with most of what Jesse said, I know that I made way more rock contact than I do on bull and there are a couple decent gatekeeper type obstacles. Its hard to judge without having a stock jeep in the group for comparison ...everyone was outfitted pretty well! Like Jesse said this trail is way far from anywhere, if it were closer it would be very popular!!

This trail had much more to deal with in a shorter amount of time. I would say it's harder than John Bull, just not much harder. It's a far drive in, but I'm already wanting to go back, so I guess the drive is not too bad. Next time I would like to link it with Heartbreak and that other black diamond trail we did on the JPI run. It would be a long day, but a ton of fun!

The trail Dan is talking about is a short but nice little BD trail that loops off
2n02 and back on it again. We all drove right by it yesterday way going to and from Matino Wash. The number is 2n70y. If you have the Wells book, its listed on the same page as Heartbreak Ridge.
