Need Help Looking for a shop

Hi everyone. I am finally ready with $$$ to do some upgrades to my 97 TJ. I'm looking to buy a lift kit and tires. I don't have the tools or time to do it myself so I'm asking if anyone knows of a shop that can do both and are trustworthy and price is reasonable. I already know which ones I want too. I live in Ontario, CA but would take it almost anywhere within 20-30 minutes of me. Please help, I'm wanting to find a trustworthy shop. Thanks.

Brothers 4 x 4 in Montclair. These guys have done a lot of things for me and they are good at what they do.

If coming out to Yucaipa is not too far, it would be worth your while to try Jeep performance. There are many Jeeps on this forum that have had work done there and they are great. Call and talk to Stan! 887.795.Jeep. They also have some build pics on their facebook page.

Thanks to the both of you. I will look them both up. Are they good with customers that don't know a whole lot. I'm kinda new to the whole jeeping thing and upgrades. I don't want to get taken. I'm trying to do my homework on-line as much as I can.

For what it's worth, I just drove from downtown LA to Yucaipa to take my Jeep to JPi. The whole reason I am going through that trouble, is because of exactly what you mentioned. I need someone that will help me make the right decisions and not take advantage of my ignorance (and I have plenty.) The best part of the JPi guys is they are out wheeling with us, and know (in my case) exactly what I am wanting to tackle, and what I can grow into or towards. I told Stan that I was more interested in the relationship than the work... and he gets that. I couldn't recommend them higher. But hey, it's where my trust and wallet went... so that should be a no-brainer.

Best of luck!! (hey, and come wheel with us!!! You live near a TON of great trails!!)

You are doing the right thing by using the forum as well, lots of good info and ideas to be found. The best thing to do is call and talk to a couple of shops and see how you feel about them. You have to feel good about it.

You should also go out and do some wheelin'. I bought my Jeep thinking I just wanted to hit a couple fire roads...and the next thing I know I want to roll through every Black diamond trail there is... I did MANY things twice because I didnt do them well enough to begin with....

There are quite a few runs on this forum... join one! Good Luck!

I have all my work done by JPI also, can't recommend them enough! Definitely worth the drive from Ontario. They only work on Jeeps so it helps to have a specialty shop that isn't doing low riders...

Hey Scott: Is your Jeep done? Where are the pics??

JPI

Stan has never worked on my jeep and I have no financial interest in his company. However, I have seen the work he has done on JKs and TJs and let me tell you, it is incredible. Everything he builds just flat works. He is a very nice guy and after wheeling with him and guys that have jeeps built by him I recommend his shop to everyone.

This is exactly why we started JPI. After spending big bucks at other shops and then having to come home and fix it so it worked right, we decided, that's enough. We love Jeeps and Jeep people and use a great deal effort and attention to detail to make sure your Jeep works properly.

we spend as much time necessary with you to find out how you want to use your Jeep.
then we get your Jeep set up just the way you want it. we make sure it works properly.
Then we all go out and hit the trails. The bottom line is this: we are not happy until you are and the Jeep is performing absolutely perfect. we will not accept anything less.
No BS.

Give Stan a call!

WOW... The fact that your willing to drive from LA says a lot... With everything said I will for sure check out JPi. I wanted one close to home cause I don't like my jeep being to far away from daddy... LOL. But with all that said I have to give them a look.

I got my Jeep in 2007 in Colorado, and have not done anything to it. It does have a breather and lower ratio set up for crawling, not sure of the number. I think it has a small lift on it already cause the shocks look after market. Tires are only 30's and I want at least 33's don't really want to go bigger. As for my wheelin' I usually take my young boys 3 & 5 with me up Cleghorn and to Azusa canyon. We resently went up Indian Truck Trail. My boys love it when I get the jeep full of mud but I worry about getting stuck cause I don't really have the right tires. I don't want to do much crazy stuff cause I alway ride with my boys and their safety comes first. I'm always up for a ride but I just feel like my jeep isn't really set up right yet. My hope is to change that very soon.

I am so use to Brothers that I did not even think of Stan at Jeep Performance. He is a great guy with great customer service and he will take good care of you there as well. There you go, 2 good places not too far from you. Good luck.

Thanks to all of our customers for your support.
At JPi, we want more than a Jeep specific shop and store. We really want to have a friendly relationship with people, and want our customers to feel like a friend is performing the work on their Jeep. We also want you to feel comfortable when visiting the shop, wether your there to have a complete suspension system installed, or just to ask questions. Most jeep owners are very picky where they leave their Jeep with $20-40 thousand invested into it, and we feel the same. So your jeep is always treated as we would our own.
To the OP, call or stop by, even if it's just to inquire about choices of accessories, regardless of where you have your jeep mods done.
Again, thanks for all the positive feedback!

I too recommend talking to JPI. I had a small problem with my jeep and needed a special bolt to get it fixed. I called Stan and he told me to come on by the shop and he will hook me up. I pulled up to the shop and was immediately greeted by everyone at the shop. (I hate going to shops and no one will give you the time of day) Anyway he took the time to find me exactly what I needed. JPI treated me like I was spending $5,000! I was impressed with the cleanliness of the shop. It was well organized and set up nice. Talking to them I could tell they really know their stuff. It will be well worth your time and drive. Again, I highly recommend JPI…

I had the pleasure to meet Buck from JPI this past weekend wheeling, and for anyone living in the IE I too would recommend them.

X2! We do all of our own work- but would have Stan do anything we couldn't in a heartbeat.
