New here, out of Cal City

Hey guys, name is Jose. I'm out of the land of the sun(California City). I like long walks on the beach, and desert strolls as the sun goes down. Im running a red 08 rubi unlimited and would like to get out on some of these group runs.

Ill upload some pics soon.

Welcome from a close neighbor

You are right down the road from some pretty good wheeling...Last Chance Canyon, Nightmare Gulch, Goler, etc, etc...

Welcome to the High Desert. Just just missed a dozie last week, 23 rigs not 30 minutes from your door. You will see two jeeps in your area, a white JK sport that is lifted on 33's and a stock Black Ops model.

Haven't seen those two. I have a friend with a silver Rubi, and an old mustard yellow Bronco. It's funny because I was out there that Saturday, I ran into a group of about 12 jeeps and a Merc. Outside of that it seemed pretty dead.

Anywho, tomorrow is a big day, got a bad case of the death wobbles and my balljoints just came in so install time it'll be. LOL, when I jack up the jeep I get over an 1/8 inch of separation.

This is her off of the dealer ad. Only difference will be the Hutchinson Mopar wheels and some other small hidden goodies like an Artec front truss, synergy stabilizer, draglink, and balljoints. It's a Teraflex 3/4 kit, upper rear arms appear stock, JKS track bars, quick discos, etc. We like it as a family car and its great for camping trips. Bumpers are LOD going off of the rears nameplate, and the winch is a Warn 9.5. I refused to pay for a stock jeep and when I found this one I jumped on it. I want to do metalcloak fenders and keep the teraflex arms but install their joints.

We were there on Sunday. The group you saw was from Bakersfield, had a run up on their boards.

Nice looking rig. The only thing I would highly suggest out here are some better rock rails. You will be using them out there. The rubi's will do you fine for about 80% of the trails but when you begin to do some of the harder trails you will want rails that actually keep the rocks away from your jeep.

No doubt, I actually used the stockers that saturday going into LC from Garlock on one of the first rights. There was an outcrop of rocks and I decided to play on it with smashing results, pun intended.

I ride an XR650R and the "wife" has a KTM 400. Both are plated.

"wife" as in that was my excuse for buying another bike. Think I might shit can the XRR and pick up a 950 SE for the comutes and fast fire breaks.

EAFB, BAF.

Apparently my bride is working on Saturday so, if you are up for a Nightmare Last chance run, that can be arranged. This will be the last weekend for Nightmare, closing for raptor nesting.

Hiya Joseea1952 and welcome from another Ridgecrest resident! Come on down if you can make it Sunday. Lots of places to go out here.

So did you get transfered to EAFB and if so where did you come from?

Dak, I have a terrible concept if time with working graves. I'll keep the schedule open for Sunday. I have to get down town for some ballpoint tools. The ones I borrowed are a bit twisted. If all goes well ill most likely go.
