Welcome to the nut house Spoondoggie! Sounds like you'll fit right in.

You would be surprised at how far you can go with modding your jeep and still keep it a daily driver. Mine used to be a daily driver but I played too hard.
Well, I guess it all depends on where your job is! You could drive that to work if you made your own short cuts...

SWEET rig!

Yum! Indeed I do! Newcastle is my favorite, and you can't beat Corona on a hot day.

x's come stock with a 6 cylinder, right? the only reason i ask, i have a 4 banger, and have put a 2" coil spacer lift on it, rolling on 31"s, and have one hell of a time when it comes time to merge into traffic. kinda wish i would have held out a little longer and gotten the 6 instead.

In fact, come to think of it, here's my first. My right front sway bar link is shot. My first project! Where's the best place to buy new front links, or should I wait and do my lift kit? I assume the link size will change when I lift?

Thanks again, any and all advice is always welcome and appreciated!
I'm pretty sure I've got the stock sway bar links off my 06 in a box somewhere if you want to replace yours while you research the lift you want. If you need em, just pm me and I'll see if I can find them . . . don't think I've gotten rid of them. Come pick them up and they're yours...we could even throw em on real quick...that's a really easy job and one you'll want to learn real quick as airing down and disconnecting the sway bar are the first things to learn after how to put it in 4WD! Welcome to the madness!!!

And yes . . .

Heh, welcome to the forum Spoondoggie. You've run into a great bunch of folks, I got to wheel with them earlier this year... a fine bunch, all of them. Well most of them.

It sounds like you're getting good advice so far but if you get into needing some technical help, be sure to post up on the TJ Jeep Wrangler forum where the techies hang out.

By the way, I was born & raised in Long Beach and went to Lakewood HS (sister went to Millikan), and LBCC. Nice town though it has sure changed since I lived there.

I was born and raised in Huntington Beach. We moved to Cerritos, where I was supposed to go to Artesia Hs. Lakewood/Cerritos is a bad area now. I had a lot of friends there. I ended up going to Hs in Ventura.

Hello there.... I am a new jeep owner, a new forum participant, a girl and l live in Lakewood on the Long Beach Border. If you come up with a trail ride locally let me know I am ready.

I have to take my niece home to Bakersfield Sunday and will probably detour into Gorman for a little dirt...

Welcome to the forum...

Welcome to the forum...

Hi Jeep girl! Looks like I'm heading to Cleghorn Ridge on Sunday in my rusty little stock. There's apparently an easy trail running parallel to the rough trail where the folks from Project-JK.com will be playing.

We should definitely get together some time! My roommate has a JK, his group are a very nice bunch of folks.

That sounds like more fun then my Bakersfield trip...

Please let me know when if you have another trip planned and I will try to make it out. I really want to give this Jeep a work out so I can see what I can do in stock form and what I really would need to do if I want to go on bigger and badder trails. My rig is a Rubicon so I am already running 31 MTR's and have lockers...

E-mail me and maybe we can get together and talk and compare Jeeps... kmorris283@yahoo.com

Heyas,

The folks over at project-jk.com are toying with the idea of a Jeep Girl Run in September! I think that'd be a blast.

JK-Forum.com - The Ultimate Jeep JK Wrangler Bulletin Board

I'll shoot you over an email this aft, tho I am but a lowly stock TJ owner. Soon to be lifted, hooray!!!

Cleghorn is gorgeous, I love it up there.

This weekend, if all goes well, I will be busy putting on my 3.25" lift and 33" MT's! Yay! I'll be sure to take plenty of pics.

Congrats Spoondoggie. If for any reason you are not doing the lift, come with us. If not, we'll see you next time. Good luck on the lift.
