New Member!

After several months of researching, I finally took the plunge on a new base 2013 2dr JK billet silver Sport, and I just had to go manual. Already was given the thumbs up by a friendly jeep wrangler owner on my commute home. Is this common place among the jeep community?

Also, looking around the socal area for meet ups, and some mod ideas. So far, I believe the standard rim / tire setup is, 4.5" offset 16" rims and some 33/12.5" all season tires with a small 2" budget lift? If anyone has this rim/wheel combo in the socal area, would be happy to take them off your hands.

Wanted to drop a line here and say hi to everyone on the forum. So far, really enjoying the new toy after only a few miles. Already scheduling the lift and small mods this week. Any suggestions love to hear! Looking forward to some fun wheelin'

Wasn't sure if their was a new member section, if so, please move this.

Thanks gunner. Right around the belmont shore area. Have you heard of any issues with leaving the soft top down overnight? Glove box locked and nothing stores inside. Thoughts?

Haha, is this really the social norm? I know when I used to ride motorcycles it was common place.

Hi Matt!

Congrats on your Jeep! Always wave...I can only assume the person who sold you the Jeep wasn't a Jeep owner themselves..he/she should have passed down the Golden Rule to you as a new Jeep owner.

See ya on the trails!

Waving is the social norm while on the road. Don't be irked when people don't wave back, seems some people buy jeeps and never go off road or get on the forums and are not briefed to the social norm.

Anyways, welcome to the Jeepin'. A whole new world has opened up to you. Now you don't have to wonder where that fire road goes anymore...its a blast.

Welcome to the disease Matt. Waving is a must for us Wheelers. It helps to distinguish Jeep owners from Jeepers. Jeepers will always wave if they see you. Jeep owners, not so much. Lol

Thanks! I have always wanted to explore with an open top, so here I am! Locating a good deal on the, "Combo." Keeping it simple with the 33's!

Hey Matt. I would put the top up. It is just to easy to have some homeless guy spend the night in your jeep. At least if the top is up it looks like it is too much work. Here at the beach it can be a big deal.

Haha, I actually know several of the local homeless vets over at the VA, maybe it can be a dual purpose rig now.

My thought on the canvas top was to always leave that up, but just leave the canvas windows out so its easier to take up and down daily. Thoughts?

welcome to the club.

Just a word of caution on doing mods to your jeep. Check out the JK section for issues with the JK and what to look for.

JEEP = just empty every pocket

Just returned from 4 wheel parts... Nothing ordered yet, just getting some ideas and pricing things out... current build list was around 5k... This could get ugly fast. What is that quote again? Just empty every...
