New Member in Central Cal..

I just recently purchased a 2012 Wrangler Sport.

It is stock other than the 33's and rims I put on.

I am looking for any "Easy" trails for a beginner somewhere around the Modesto area, or not too far.

I haven't lifted it yet and I have no armor I want to keep it simple, but I need to get it off of the pavement and try it out. The problem is I am new to offroading and have no idea where to go.

Any info would be a great help!

Closest trail would be dodge ridge and eagle peak. I recommend picking up Charles wells book guide to northern California back roads & four wheel drive trails.

Thank you for the reply! I will definitely look for it. Dodge Ridge and Eagle Peak you say. I didn't even realize there were places to go up there.
Might be convenient, I will be camping at Pinecrest in 2 weeks.

You can also stop in at any Ranger Station and get trail maps. They also have a complete book with all the maps in them. I get mine from the Station in Mi Wuk (hiway 108).

Hey Miggs, I just joined this forum. I'm from Modesto. How did that book pan out? Have you used it or maps from the Mi Wuk ranger station?
