New unreasonable SMOG Emission standards for older Jeeps

I am looking for anybody in California that has installed the Mopar fuel injection kit on their 4.2 L or 4.0 L motor. I have a 1984 Jeep CJ seven with a 4.2 L that I do have the Mopar fuel injection kit on; I installed this kit at around 1998 or 99.
So to get right down to the brass tacks of it. California has tightened their emissions on our jeeps and other older model vehicles. They have done this in an attempt to remove our vehicles from the roadways.
In 2005 the maximum amount of NOx at 15 mph was 1128 and at 25 mph it was 1205. Now in 2011 the new numbers for NOx are as follows for 15 mph it is now 789 and at 25 mph it is 844.
So what I'm looking for is feedbacks from anybody that have spent a lot of money to get their jeeps with this fuel injection kit passed through smog and have failed.
What I want to do is sue the state of California for these new emissions standards. So we need as many people as possible to make this case stick.

No agreement here. My 94 can still meet the specs as a totally stock set-up (engine wise). Not a directed attempt to get your Jeep of the road, just to get rid of inefficient smog producing vehicles. No one is singling you out.

The real problem I have with our CA smog laws and what I see as the flaw is that if you live in rural CA or one of the many no-smog law states yo have no issues and no requirments to comply. Hence the many discussions on the forum about cutting out CAT's. But because I live in a suburban area (Alameda County) I must comply with the strict rules.

Well just got confirmation from Tony Strickland office that the Air Recourse Board came up with the new standards to specifically remove cars that are older than 12 years from the road. This was pushed by the democrats.

Finely passed Smog test by the skin of my teeth. Passed the NOx level barley by double digits, which what I was failing in the first place.
I think I am going to put in a 5.3 with all of the smog equipment out of a 2008-2010 Chevy. That is cheaper than rebuilding my current 4.2 inline 6.

My '04 won't pass the CA smog test now and I can't afford the new pair of pre-cat converters it needs to pass. The pre-cats are a dealer-only item and not yet available in the aftermarket. I bought my '04 from a friend, after my '97 was stolen, who bought it as a salvage vehicle and fixed it up. That it has a salvage title means the dealer wouldn't honor the 75K catalytic converter warranty when I went there to have it taken care of under warranty. Now I'm faced with a $1300 bill to get it smog worthy unless I can find a private party to buy the pre-cat assembly from.
When you have a choice, buy American.

Jerry did you try a Jeep dismantling yard? They must have 04' Jeeps and you might pick up the precat for cheap.
