Droze, what you think the weather will be like up there? Is it any cooler on the trail than, say Chico in August? The weather has been all over the place this summer! It was 103 on our Knoxville run on Fathers Day weekend, and it rained on me this morning on the way to work in the jeep with no top, lol! Crazy weather!

Yup. Camped for about a week. Im not too big on fishing but i love going. We go every year. The water is down so far. The marina has no water anymore, they had to make a new boat launch to the side. Still though, fun times.

Thanks!
I need the mounting brackets that screw on to the roll bar so I can actually mount the soft top. I also need a passenger door surround, and the brackets/bar for the back window. Once I have that stuff I will be good to go.

thats hard to say jimbob. it was about 9-12 degrees cooler up there than in paradise when we where camping in the low 90's instead of 104 in town. That is still hot anyway you look at it. there was lots of shade which also made it way more tolerable as well 90 in the shade to me is not bad at all, but i work outside all day.

You have a much longer wheel base to consider though which will change the total clearance needed. I have much experiance in that from my suburban days, makes a big differance.

Thanks, yeah I suspect I have more risk of running into something with a bottom skid plate instead of the side-steps or rocker area. I'm hoping I won't have any problems anywhere. Now I'm getting nervous

Should be ok its only the one part. I will make sure nothing happens to anyone there. I will build a small ramp for lower jeeps if needed.

Sounds good. I'm kinda undecided on rock rails or lift next so it will be good if I don't need to make a snap decision to go rock rails next. Cause a lift isn't happening at least until next tax season.

Thanks, the tenitive list is growing faster than i would like however. Seems a few guys are having small issues after there trips recently.

On a lighter note, installed my new Drake hood hold downs and love them. Chrysler should have been using something like this off the factory floor.

Yep, s*** happens. It'll be a "list rollercoaster" till the last few days to go time. At least that's been my experience.

I've heard nothing but good things about those hold downs. I've been lucky so far (knocks on wood) with my hold downs. May have to pick some up just cause.

I built my homemade discos and picked up a portable compressor from harbor freight today. Ordered door surrounds and brackets for the soft top, and of course the surrounds are back ordered.... almost ready to roll.

I have an extra soft top. No Windows or hardware though. It has two small rips that have been patched with gorilla tape. Let me know if you would like to work something out.

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately, I have no hardware either, (came with a hard top only). Only thing I have are the door surrounds, so I may troll CL to see what I can find cheap.

High Lakes Camping

I'm up for camping sat night. must be camping sites at one of the lakes, then coming out on sun. Anyone else interested? Might as well make it relaxing, kick back a few brews, and fire up the bbq, rather than blasting in and back out. Just an idea. Will be up around Gold Lake next weekend, another great area for wheeling. Looking forward to High Lakes run, as I have never been up there. Will have at least 2 rigs for sure.

Myself and a couple others already plan on staying for the night. Campsites up there are great, i just think we should drop off gear when we get out there since they are first come first serve.

here is a video of the one we stayed at.
