It's gonna be a long haul for us, so for those who aren't camping, we are probably gonna crash at one of the 2 casino/resorts in Oroville. (Feather Falls or Gold Country). I haven't checked out $$ yet.

Well the work on the jeep is on hold for a bit. Ryan Allen decided to make his big entrance this afternoon. I can't think of a better way to spend a Friday!

Never stayed there, but did have lunch at the brewery/restaurant while visiting my inlaws who were camping at the KOA there. Excellent food, cheap, and the microbrews pretty dang tasty!

For those of us that are "camping challenged" Feather Falls in Oroville has a pretty good deal on rooms. You have to book the "party package" to get the room for $99 a night and comes with tickets to whatever band they have playing that night and I think a $10 coupon off for dinner.

What kind of soft top did you get? I scored a used factory softtop last week! It's used, a little beat up, but will do the job!

I picked up a used factory top for free that had most of the hardware but had a couple holes. Then nabbed a good top with windows for 80 bucks, and swapped over the hardware to make one complete top minus door surrounds and mounting brackets. The top with holes is in decent shape, I cleaned it up and did a temporary patch with gorilla tape since the holes are pretty small. Now I've good a spare if I need one. I should be able to put the top on this friday when the parts get here. Total cost is under 300, but that is because the stupid bow brackets are 25 each, and the door surrounds ran me 150 with the rear window bar/ brackets. None of the area junk yards had anything for me so I had to order new.

I lucked out and found one close to home on CL. Guy said it had no rips, but upon installing it, found a few minor tears. Windows are pretty scratched up and foggy, but for the price, it's all good. I'm not a soft top expert, so I hope it goes down easy, cause I'm gonna want it down for the trails.

ok, back in the states finally. put me down as a yes for this run. Not sure which route to take though. I live in Vallejo, so I could meet with the sac group and go that way, or I could meet the Petaluma/SR group and go that way. Is it better one way or another? also, I didn't really want to read through every page, I read most just not all, what are people doing Saturday night? camping, hotel, what?

Droze and a few others are camping. I will be cruizing into Oroville afterwards and stay at Feather Falls Resort/Casino. Not sure what the rest are doing. Check post #309. I attached a link there.

I'm just driving home after, but from my estimate I only live 2 hours from the trailhead since it's 90 minutes to the meet spot and IIRC from earlier someone said about 30 minutes more to the trail. Yeah it'll be a late/long day but I'm crazy like that lol.

Holy crap that is really close. head about that on the radio yesterday but didnt realize where it was.

judging by the distance since there is no mile gauge but i roughly know the distance between lakes it can't be more than 20 miles most likley way less since it has crossed chips creek. looks lake its really close to the main trail on the backside hope they get it put out .

Well, they've got 9 days to get it contained and the trails opened back up. Crossing my fingers!

Just noticed on Pirate site that High Lakes area has been closed by the powers to be. Lets hope they get it under control soon.
