norcal sierras run?

With the cow mountain run being such a success I thought I would throw out a feeler for another. I am thinking the last weekend of June or maybe mid July. Deer valley, slickrock and barney riley and maybe strawberry can all be ran in one long weekend. Any other suggestions?

No i couldn't make it for that run. Haven't really been on the forum for the last month.

I messed up my dates. Last weekend of june i am camping on union valley res and may go play on the rubicon.

Barney riley and strawberry a stock jeep can handle but deer valley would beat a stocker to death. I will be running deer valley this summer, and will be putting together a run.

Another option is the bowman lake, meadow lake area. Not that exciting though.

Looks like Deer valley and strawberry will be closed this year. I will look in some of my books for other options. Barney riley is one of my faves but its almost all the way to nevada, may be too far for some.

Sierra's Trails

Just an idea for you is the Gold Lake area off Hwy49 out of Downieville. Lots of trails from easy to harder. They are in the Tahoe Natl Forest, and you can get maps at the ranger station off hwy49 Nevada City turn off. Big country with lakes and views. I will be wheeling up there at the end of June, all snow should be gone.

im down to go again. has to be the weekend after this one. i could bring a couple jeeper friends from the area who know it fairly well.

There may still be a fair amount of snow might make scouting a little difficult

We could wait till June for the snow to melt a bit and maybe put together a July/August run? I find that giving folks a good month or so to plan helps. Just say'n.

Where is Highlakes compared to Sacramento? I'm down in the pleasant hill/concord area and always willing/ready to roll.

thats cool. im in citrus heights. as for the lift we all start somewhere. I bought mine with a fabtech and hate it. Saving to change that later on since i use it mostly off-road and this is one of the stiffest suspensions iv'e ever had on a vehicle.

Ill keep everyone posted on when i will make a scout run if anyone wants to join. may camp a night out there to give more time so if you want to go be prepared for that if needed.

If the high lakes is to far for some we could always do a egale lakes run, or go to fordyce lake (not fordyce trail) as a backup.
