We'll I say gold mountain vs Holcomb if we have a stock rig in the group. My buddy made it up a good portion of the way on gold mtn. Didn't try the stuff at the end only cuz no one had a winch or tow strap in his group. Will a stock rig make it up gold mtn with a little help if need be? And maybe cleghorn for a back up? Still low elevation but bypasses for each obstacle. Anyone been out to Johnson valley?

I've seen a stock JKU rubi do Holcomb. Smashed his tail pipe and got tugged once. Both happened on the middle rock section. He took the bonus line for some reason...

If it does look like its Big Bear and one of those trails he may back out. I will check today.

All the potential rigs going have CB's? Prob easiest way to keep tabs if anyone gets into some trouble. Also where is everyone coming from? We can get some ideas for meeting locations as well

My friend has a stock Sahara. If you take the easy line in the middle section the only tough section is the gate keeper on the west end. He's a JKU so he will most likely get high centered and need a tug over the very last rock. Which could be the first rock.

It'll be sloppy conditions so anyone with out a locker may need a tug.

Ya I seen 33s go through three with no lockers ad even GM to. Snow/mud will be tricky. Tow straps and tow points will be a must! Lmao

I was thinking meet at 1000 in lake arrow head or fawnskin depending on the trail/head we take.

Perhaps we can meet somewhere in town off the 10 (Redlands I think) around 0900 if that's the way we are all going into Big Bear.

Stockers could always leave there rigs there or at the trail head if they change there minds. They can ride shotgun in other jeeps. They make great picture takers!!!!

We'll since confirms are going to make the drive a little slower heading up, should we shoot for a little earlier? Maybe 8am off the 10? And it will give us an hour more of daylight in the vent of sketchy situations.

I takes me an 1.5 hours to get there as is. So id go up slower if I had to leave my house at 0600 to be there by 0800.

How about off highway 10 at 0900? Anyone know a place there that we can meet? I can look it up tonight after work.

Is that lower elevation or up high? Just heard about it. Possible back up area if it's low? Never been there either. No matter what we decide we are in and will be up for it all.

Please let me know when ou figured out a meeting place and time. I think 0900 would be a good time to make sure we don't have ice on the road going up to bb, just a thought, the rim of the world is pretty high, don't know the elevation, but since it's viewing all over inland empire, I am sure snow will stick and freeze if its cold enough. You don't wanna plunge down those cliffs....

So just called ranger to verify trails will be open. They said to check back on Saturday to confirm nothing has been closed. They said 12" will be the trigger point of gate closures but doubt they get 12"+

Think a stock sport is good to make Holcomb? I'm sure we will have enough winches and tow straps if it came down to it, or man power to move some rocks and make steps if need be.

I've a stock JKU rubicon do it. Got tugged once (from the extra credit line) but conditions were premium.

Is the sport a 2 or 4 door? If it's a 4 door it will get hung up on a few rocks will scrap underneath.

If we go to GM there is a by pass for the rock garden. I've never taken it but hotshot goes that way all the time in his TJ. That may bypass one of its tough spot. Only other issue is the small waterfall and the rocky uphill right around the corner.

That I assume they will make it w a tug.

Probably should have a strap every other vehicle.

If the stock rig goes on GM they may get some bumper scraps and underneath scraps.

If a stock rig goes on Holcomb they will get scraps a lot under neath and if it's a 4 door, with no rock wells or sliders there can be a chance of damage there.
