If we meet in Redlands around the the 10. Will we be going up the 330 to the 18 up top? There is a shell station right at that junction I believe

Yes that's what I was thinking. There might be a mcdonalds. The. When we are all there we call can weigh the pro cons of each trail.

If we do Holcomb and are going in from crab flats side, we may have to worry about that creek crossing from green valley over. With the rain and snow, that may be too high?

If Jeeping in the snow & stockers are a concern- you can always start with Crab Flats. And then take the more difficult trails from there- stockers can take Crab Flats right out (They sometimes close Van Dussen). We went out by ourselves on Christmas last year. FYI there was tons of snow- but the roads getting there were fine. There was a ranger at the entrance to Crab Flats- he waved us on through but don't bring an FJ Cruiser. (I kid).
Last time out in the rain the Gatekeeper at Holcomb presented a bigger obstacle than normal (pun intended)- and we had a pretty experienced group. Armor and sliders for sure.

So we can meet at that shell station and fuel up there and I think there is a Starbucks or something else in the same lot from the maps I saw. Or we can meet over by kohls off the 10 at the 210 junction. Little more food options if anyone needs to eat. Just fuel up before you get there and then can leave from that point. And head up the mountain. Either way works for us

I ran it west (starting with large gate keeper) to east then through Hanna flates into fawnskin before. No sign of water.

If you do dishpan then roll into into Holcomb there is a creek but that's pretty much the end of dishpan or deep creek trail. I am pretty sure we can take a direct route to Holcomb trail (still going west-east if that is the desired direction

If we start in fawnskin and go east to west there is a trail that we could take to come off of Holcomb trail. It would by pass the hard gate keeper at the west end. That could be an alternative.

Sounds like we have plenty of options! And was up last week. The creek I'm talking about is if you cut over from 18 to green valley and keep going to crab flats. Right before the crab flat/big pine intersection there is a good creek. Hits bottom of doors when no rain. This is the only way I know from this end besides heading up the dishpan trail. Sounds like you are much more familiar so I will just be following. Let do this!

I'm checking on my friend w the stock JKU. He confirmed prior to knowing it's snowing. He was ok going to Big Bear then and not calico. Too many waterfalls in calico for stockers.

If hotshot goes he will be fine and you and I as well. So if my math is correct Thor114 and your 2 friends rigs will stagger in between us three.

Here's an address to Starbucks off the 210 prior to the 330. I'd say gased up an fed prior to 0900. Let's meet there and determine the trail then. There is a gas station there too

I want to go!!! I would be coming up the lucerne side and meeting you in town or at the trail head. If I get to go. Jeeping is so addicting!! I want to play!
