OHV Permit need!?!?

Do i really need an OHV permit to go out to the desert and off road!?

a buddy and i were thinking of taking a trip down to Jawbone Canyon and i read online somewhere i needed a permit?? that sounds retarded!!!

I think the permit is just a way for the Ranger Service to have record of who and how many people are in a area in case of emergency. Not really a big deal, to me anyway.

No, no permit is required as long as your vehicle has up to date tags and is registered with the dmv your fine. the permits are for dune buggy type vehicles that are not street leagal

When are you headin out the jawbone area? thats only about 15 minutes away from me.
