Parker AZ - Pics & Videos

Just got back from spending Thanksgiving out in Parker AZ. I have to say, this is my favorite place to wheel. I thought I would share some video of a few obstacles of trails we did. Later I will post up some pics. Maybe others that went will post up some pics and videos too.

Trail Name and rating (1-5, 5 being the hardest)

Adventure Canyon Trail - 3:

Deliverance Canyon Trail - 3+:

President's Choice Trail - 4:

True Grit Trail - 4:

I will post some pics later when I get the time...

Looks awesome I still need to make a trip out to parker with the jeep instead of the boat. Hopefully before it gets hot out there again.

I do not realize how good the steering is until I spot someone without it. It just feels like normal steering all the time, so I don't notice it. Needless to say I love it!

Trails we did:
Wed - Adventure Canyon
Thurs - Deliverance
Fri - President's Choice
Fri - Adventure Canyon - night run
Sat- True Grit
Sat - 3 Slabs
(98 miles of wheeling)

Next time I go back I want to try The Duke. How is Rio Lobo???

Great videos. Saw some awesome spotting as well as driving. I'll have to get out there soon. In the meantime, I'll be in Sedona next weekend visiting my Daughter, so I may as well run Broken Arrow and Soldier Pass while I'm there.

Thanks for letting me and my buddy run with you guys on Adventure Canyon. We had a blast, and will be in Parker next year Thanksgiving.

Hi Puck! It was great meeting you guys. That was a fun night run and it was cool having you guys join us. We drove by your camp on Saturday to see if you wanted to run True Grit with us, but you guy had already left. Hope you found some good trails! BTW, we will be back for TG too.

That sounds perfect. We will be bringing our families next year to camp and wheel out there. We had a local run us through Presidents Choice and 3 slats on saturday. On sunday Matt and I went exploring and found a few cool obsticals to hit. We will be keeping in contact with you guys, that way we can link up on trail runs.

Sounds good. If you are interested in some SoCal wheeling, check out the 10th Semi Annual Wrangler Fourm So Cal Meet n Greet. It's a good time!

We have spent every Thanksgiving at Havasu for years. A couple years ago we took the TJ instead of the boat and went to the dessert bar, not much wheeling because the people we went didn't have 4 wheel drive. The year we stay home everyone goes wheeling, haha.

Maybe we will have to go back to our old ritual and head out there next year, I'll bet Mike would be up for it

Looks like your Jeep just cruised through all the trails, that has to make you very pleased!!

Well.... No I didn't... we had the trip planned for months and I had to pull out last minute due to health issues with my wife's dad. I did sneak out one day and run bull by myself and I like the gears though. It looks like Dan did much more testing than I did

I agree Dan Parker is also one of my favorite places to wheel. I can't wait to go back. Here are a couple group photos and a link to pictures I took with my phone.

This is actually in Johnson Valley (I posted it in the wrong thread).

You are correct Blaine. Without the pivot, it will be hard to make that turn. And you bring up a good topic! Parker had some tight canyons that gave the 4 door JK's some challenge. On one obstacle (an S-turn with a 4 foot waterfall climb at the end) I tried unsuccessfully to get 2 of the 4 door JK's (on 37's) to pivot. I was able to get the last 4 door JK (on 35’s) to pivot. I'm not sure if tire size had something to do with getting the jeep to pivot or not. What I do know is this is a very cool technique that I would like to improve on.

I taco'd my passenger side rock slider making a pivot at the end of presidents choice. I got on a wrong line, and had to pivot back.... I need to learn how to do it properly.

Sounds like you need a stronger rock slider Did you go up the Launch Pad or take the bi-pass at the end of President's Choice?

If you ever find your way back out with us, we'll take you up Highway 20. Halfway up is a nasty fall that has two lines both of which dead end into the side of a canyon just past the landing which is the width of the rig plus a small amount.

The "bypass" line for the smaller tired rigs is now around to the left, hook back to the right which points you 270° the wrong direction. At that point you force the rig hard to the left and do the 270° turn by hooking the left rear on the big boulder. It has a vertical face so it won't be easily climbed and it just spins you around to point down the trail the right way.

Someone was talking about a Lazy Suzan option a couple weeks ago. Sounds like just the ticket for that maneuver.

Yep, amazing how good it feels to do a little R&R after working 14 hours a day, 7 days a week. I only brought the jeep for something to do in between sitting in the lounge chair! We had a great time on presidents choice, already have a waterfront spot reserved for next year!
