Pontiac Sluce Heartbreak Ridge

So a couple of us are running Pontiac Sluice - Heart Break Ridge on Saturday July 19th. We are meeting at the Mill Creek Ranger Station 8:30 -9:00 located at Hwy 38 & Bryant just out of Yucaipa. Then we will head up the mountain to 2N01.
This should be a great day on the trails.
Come on out with us. If you will already be in Big Bear then we can meet you at the 2N01 trail head.

Very Good. Of course you are welcome to come out with us.
This is a moderate run with some rock on the trail and one short section of rocks (with a bypass). It has been a couple years since I have run this.

We are not a club, just jeep people who like to go out and have a good time.
(And though it does not need to be said...I prefer no drinking alcohol
while on the trail). Very family orientated.

Look forward to meeting you and Looking forward to a great day in the mountains

Nah I wasn't worried, just wanted to get that out there so all would know that we have fun but are careful on the trail.
Cool - see you on the 19th.

Hey guys - I don't think I've met any of you yet but the Mill Creek station is right up the street from my house so I may end up tagging along if that's ok. My rig is pretty well set up and I've run these trails in the past with no difficulty. Don't wait around for me, I'll make a game day decision.

Right now just looks like me and the wife and you.. might have some hold outs and maybe get some people toward the end of the week..

See you this Saturday

Charles should be on the Rubicon right about now. (I'm just a little jealous)
There may be 2-3 more coming along. Will be a great day in the mountains!

Here you go,

34701 Mill Creek Road
Mentone, CA.
92359

Its on the corner of Bryant and Highway 38. You can come up Yucaipa Blvd. that way you can gas up and get something to eat. Exit 10 freeway Yucaipa Blvd. and follow to the top and left on Bryant and you cant miss the ranger station. Plus you can fill up with gas and snacks...

Quick question.... Have any of you guys been on Pontiac/Heartbreak ridge with a TJ that still has the puny stock steering system? I would like to join but I'm nervous I will be that guy that will have to end up wrenching on the trail for going with a crappy steering system :/

I called Gerald at Savvy & he's been out of stock on the upgraded steering system I'm looking for

We don't promise anything but a great time. Come on out and we can see what happens. There is a bypass if you want to take it easy.

I've been on it a few times when I had the stock steering with no troubles. I also carry an extra stock tie rod in case anyone needs it.
