President Day w/e in Parker!

Anyone interested in going to Parker Az over President's weekend (Feb 14-17)? I will be putting runs together for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If we have any interest I can do a night run as well. For those that have never been to Parker, it’s a lot like Calico only BIGGER. Lots of trails, bigger rocks, bigger waterfalls, and more obstacles. For the runs we will be doing, you need 33+ tires, rear locker, full size spare tire, and solid front and rear tow points. Ideally you will also have front locker, CB, lots of protection, and a winch. Even with all that, expect to be winched as some point and have some new scratches. Sound fun A few of us will be camping at the Pirates Den RV Resort http://www.piratesdenresort.com/. Let me know if you have any questions…

Not sure if I want more of this. Once is scary enough. I will use a safety strap next time.

The right amount of skinny pedal and a little luck. Who knows maybe this is one of those rare cases where 33" tires and a factory transfer case skid were an advantage keeping my center of gravity low.

I actually felt the manual was an advantage in this case. If I would have felt the front lift I would have immediately let off the gas and pushed the clutch in which would bring the front back down along with the entire Jeep. I stil may have flopped when my rear tires hit bottom but at least it would have been a flop at the bottom instead of the top.

If I was really good I could shift into reverse while rolling back and let the clutch out when I hit bottom to keep the front down.

Cant wait...

After seeing your steering set up, I think I'm going to do basically the same upgrade only using a rebuilt gear. I will try holding off on the Cylinder for now and see how it goes, it can always be added. Stan has the rebuilt gear back from PSC ready to go in and he can block off the ports.

I'm not going to make it to this one. Hopefully next time. I'm having 'the operation' on the 14th. They said if I don't, kids will keep popping out. Go figure.

I'll have to live vicariously through you guys. Take plenty of pics!

After wheeling Parker you will know if the Cylinder assist is needed or not for your 35's. Parker will bring upgraded steering to the top of the mod list. Just ask anyone who wheeled it last time with factory steering. If I recall correctly 4 out of 7 rigs were running factory steering. Everyone including me who didn't have it does now.

Mark if you are concerned about rolling over backwards then next time just back up it.

That looks scary in the photo. I can only imagine what it was like inside the rig.

I got a little concerned when my front tires slipped for a brief moment. I think the scariest part was thinking about doing it. Dan was telling me to go up top and look down on it. Glad I didn't because I would have probably taken the bypass.

I know some people were on the fence about this trip. As of now we gave a group of 5 jeeps. If you plan on going, let me know and I will put you in the loop. BTW, weather call for a high temp of 86 degrees for the weekend!!!

I have reserved campsite # 55 next to Dan at the Pirates Den if anyone would like to have it. I will be staying at a friends place in Parker so I don't have to bring an extra vehicle to pull my Toy hauler. I have already paid $100 and the remaining balance for 3 nights with full hookups is $62. You just need to pay the $62 and the site is yours.

In case you didn't know Parker is effing awesome!!!

I was thinking about doing this trip, but then I decided it would be a way better idea to go to Indianapolis and Chicago to visit my sister. Who needs 86 degrees in the desert when you can have -4 in the mid-west.

I know I was one of those on the fence for this trip. As much as I would like to go, Candy and I, are not gonna make it. I'm sure you all will still find a way to have fun out there without us. I know it won't be the same, but remember, if you get into a tight situation, you can always call me @ 1-800-GET-SPOTED, to get you through. You all have a good time and I'll be looking forward to the pics. Mark.

You would love the trails in Parker Dave, but we only have a group of 5-6 jeeps. I know you only go when the group is 20 or more jeeps. Have fun, maybe next time...
