Results of a Busy Weekend

Well, I went nuts with the modifications and spent all day Friday and Saturday morning doing all of the installations. For those of you who do not know me, here is what my Jeep looked like before:

I installed a Rugged Ridge XHD front bumper with RR 8.5K synthetic rope winch; RR HD rear bumper with RR tire carrier; TeraFlex 2.5" lift kit; 15" ProComp Series 98 Rockcrawler wheels with ProComp 33x12.5R15 Xtreme Mud Terrains.

I had a hard time trying to decide whether to go with polished / chrome wheels or black ones (I really do like the chromed out look, my motorcycle is full of it and it looks tits), but I decided that the Jeep has so many black accents already that black would look better. I think I made the right choice. If my Jeep's paint color was black, I definitely would have went polished / chrome.

Thanks everyone. I am really happy with how it turned out. I figured out that when the manufacturers say 2.5" lift for the JK's, that is the end result for the JKU's. For the 2 door, you are going to get an additional .75" - 1.0" out of it. I can't wait to get all of this new stuff dirty! I vote we move Turdhurdlers meet and greet up to next weekend!!!!

Is that a stick or auto. Are you running stock gears? Or is a gear swap on the short list! Looks great by the way.

Heck yeah Brandon! Way awesome. You had little problems before getting through the tuff stuff, but now you won't have to take the bypasses. Really stoked on your upgrades. I echo Brad, let's go wheel it!

Thanks. It's a manual with 3.73's. I have noticed a difference on the highway with the tire change. It doesn't like highway speeds uphill in sixth gear anymore. I don't see it being a major problem, but I do plan on regearing to 4.56 once I save some more money and can afford to do a rear locker and front limited slip at the same time. But I can be patient with that, I have rear limited slip right now and it has been pretty good at getting me through the tough sections already.

Hey Beantown and Yomondo, you both have the Teraflex 2.5" lift, did you guys drill that hole too? I did and then I was sitting there for 30 minutes trying to figure out how in the hell that track bar bracket goes on that upper mount! Then I read the instructions a little better and looked at the kit P/N and realized I don't have the upper drop mount. I told my friends I drilled the hole to save weight!

i drilled it and didn't have any issues with the mount. you should contact who you bought it fromand get the right part.

Ahh, I might have a different lift kit than you. The instructions are for about five different TeraFlex kits. The instructions for the hole that needed to be drilled using the template was for a different kit than mine. I figured that out after looking at the pictures of all of the different kits and their contents on the first couple of pages. My track bar relocation bracket goes on the bottom driver side mount (Bolts to the lower control arm, original track bar mount and a u-bolt secures the rest around the axle tube) instead of the upper passenger side. No hole was required for the bottom one. The instructions are so unclear to that fact that I will almost guarantee that everyone with my kit drilled that hole too!

My TeraFlex lift kit also came with the rear trackbar relocation bracket that mounts on the passenger side frame by drilling the hole using the template. I have since replaced the stock rear trackbar with an adjustable one and removed the relocation bracket though.
