Rubicon this Summer? Newbie looking for some help?

Hello all
I was thinking of doing the Rubicon this summer. Wanted to know if any of you have done it and what I need to plan for?
I have a 97 TJ with a 4 inch lift and some 33 mudders. Not much more than that. What is the trail like? Any suggestions on things to upgrade?
I was thinking of ARB's and 4.88 gears at the least. Is a winch needed?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
