Ya I definitely want to do it but not alone, I wanted to go with jeep jamboree but they require front and rear lockers to register and I can only afford one locker which I plan on putting in a month or so. So I would like to go with a group of jeeps.

What's your setup

Sounds like a blast. I'm looking into it too with another group. Sometime spring to summer?

You still could be possibly looking at little or lots of snow at that time. All really depends on mother nature.

That's just stupid they require front and rear lockers. We got a stock TJ through with just a couple winches and I got through with no problems at all (33's and limited slip rear open front) last summer. I didn't even touch my sliders

Ya their requirements are too much, glad to hear you can make it through without lockers really

I wonder how they respond to warranty claims for the new jeeps on the jamboree.

I am doing it this next summer also but , I won't be doing it with 700 other people on the Jamboree . That's probably the reason for r+r lockers , so they can get every body through quick . I live in Reno and live pretty close . Have to make sure there's no snow before we go . I will be doing it in my old Willys wagon . What do you think ?

That's funny, cuz my uncle and I felt like we had the trail to our selves on the 3 day Jeepers. We would run into the occasional Rock Roller (spotter) and small group like at Loon Lake. We did the whole Big Sluice basically solo with only the Rock Rollers at one tuff spot and then the rest of the way in to the Springs without seeing another jeep. Then the party started.. When we arrived at the Springs the young lady that checked us in looked at us and out gray hair and Said “you look pretty quiet, I have just the spot for you." Set us up with the perfect camp. Walking distance to the festivities and quiet for sleeping at night. Can't wait to do it again

There are 2 events. 1 is Jeep Jamboree and 2 is Jeepers Jamboree. One of these events closes the trail completely and is pretty much a party. The other event is more family orientated and the trail is open after they go by. Most that I know of stay away from the trail that weekend anyway.

Jeepers jamboree is like spring break for adults in the Sierras. We've been twice and will go again this year. Very organized, great food, plenty of spotters to make your trail run fun. Lockers aren't required, but your rig needs to be trail worthy.

. We will keep that in mind. Let us know when you set a date. Running the trail with a small group or going on the Jeepers Jamboree are to very different kinds of fun. Both are very awesome!!! This year is our twenty-fifth anniversary and we will probably start an extended vacation with a Rubicon trip.

I'm game as long as it's May or June, weather permitting. I'm heading out of this state in July sooooo not much time left for me to do the Rubi without making it a full road trip from 3 states away
