I'm not familiar with the name "Monument Peak" - but when I spoke with this guy earlier, he did mention Palm Ave off the 215. He also said his truck has been up there for two weeks already!!!

Yeah..when you travel north on Palm (away from the Fwy) palm ave turns into Bailey canyon ...a dirt fire road that takes you to the top of the mtn...once at the top you can go east to Crest Forest in Crest line or North/West to C-Horn or do somewhat of a U-turn and go up to Monument Peek...good make out spot has a kid...lol

I'm not sure if this is where he is at though and I don't want to D-rail this thread.

I grew up in Michigan, we had a number of places to (as we said in those days) "Watch the submarine races" - I never knew exactly what that meant, unless they were talking about the heads disappearing from the car parked in front of you, as they slouched down in the seats.

Did they manage to get this guy out? Curious on the back story about being stuck for 2 weeks then posting an SOS on a forum.

Wow that must really suck to be out there for 2 weeks. Good to hear that fellow jeepers were willing to help this fellow out. I'm curious though, how did the recovery team help him out? Did they winch him out?

Myself and ave went up around 130 and recovered the truck. It was by far the most difficult I have ever done. I have pulled a lot of vehicles. It was along a steep ridgeline. It took both of us winching simultaneously to get it to semi flat ground. Then we strapped it to my jeep and began the pull back up the ridge which was loose and steep. Even on 40s and locked I couldn't get it alone. Abe had to be anchored and I winched up to him. Repositioned and winched up again. Took around 4 hours total.

Glad to hear you were able to help him out. Were you able to convince him to get a Wrangler after all of this? I keep saying that Jeep people are the best crowd and things like this prove it.
