It's about 30-40 minutes from Ontario.

Directions:
15 south exit Weirick Rd. Turn right and make a left at the light (Knabe Rd). Knabe Road runs along the freeway heading south. Bedford is about 1/4 mile down on your right hand side.

I wait there until 7:15 then head up to the peak to meet everyone coming from the OC side.

No love from the IE??? If Sinisterphoto doesn't go I will be headed up by myself....
Maple springs has been closed for 2 days now so Hopefully forest service opens it up by Friday seeing that the heat and fire danger should be down. I'm gonna call the rangers tomorrow to see if they know when they are going to open it

It had to happen. I show interest in a run next thing you know it's locked up. If the gates are open I'm in. My son will be driving so be patient he doesn't have his license yet.

I'll be there. See you at Bedford and Knabe Rd at roughly 7/7:15. Just depends on traffic. What channel are you going to be on?

Whats happening at Azusa Canyon? I just was there on Sunday, and there isn't much to do, other then watching people break there toys. I highly suggest staying out of the mud it takes forever to clean it out.

Yeah I agree not much really going on for a Jeep at Azusa Canyon OHV unless you're into mud bogging!... Most mud boggers haven't been going to Azusa either recently since there's no mud to play in right now, I actually bumped into the Desmadre Offroad Team in cleghorn last Sunday

I was just out on these trails last Sun. We went in at Ortega N Main Divide. It takes just under 2 hrs to get to the peak if you don't stop. Most of that stretch was graded recently (like less than a week ago) and is pretty easy and smooth. Hopefully we can go in a Maple Springs. There's a few offshoots in that stretch. A stock Jeep would have no problem on these trails. Guy had a Tundra out there! I still aired down and disconnected for smoother ride cause it's pretty rough.

Who's got Aux lights? Might get a little hairy in some spots if you can't see the edge. I'm running stock lights!

Between HDgasser and my 50" rigid and duallys we should have plenty of light. I'm gonna call the rangers today to see if we can get an update on maple springs

I just got off the phone with The trabuco ranger station and they said Maple Springs will most likely be closed until Monday. Total Bummer!! i will check again tomorrow and see.

Who from the OC side that was gonna meet up at Maple is willing to drive up Main Divide?im still deciding if i want to add the extra time, i have work at 7:30 saturday morning.

R8drizd if we come up main divide it takes almost 2 hours to get to the peak instead of the hour from maple springs. If we have takers to come up main divide instead and you guys are willing to wait or maybe meet up somewhere else along the roads we could still make the run.

IMO, It would be easier for the OC people to just hit the Toll road and head up through Corona. By the time you get up through Ortega and start the trail you could be at the Bedford canyon entrance and we could all head up together.
Just my thoughts, I dont mind waiting up at the peak. There is some offshoot along the way that I woulnt mind doing at night.

Let me know what you guys want to do. I have updated the first page.

Corona is actually 10min closer for me from work than Ortega Main Divide. Further than Maple Springs though. The Ortega exit is closer to home, so this route would work good for me. Plus I've never run from Corona before.

I may have another buddy join in another Jeep, but he's waiting for approval from the boss!

I'll wait for whoever wants to come up through Bedford. Let me know. We can start later if people want to come through Corona.

Since it sounds like Maple Springs gate will be closed, we might just have to go up the same way as you IE people, that later start time would probably be nice too since Friday evening traffic on the 91 will be a pain n the arse

We will try to meet at 7:30 and definately head up the trail by 8:00.

Please bring provisions, Water, Snacks, Jackets, Flashlights as it will be at night.

People from the IE will meet off of Weirick Rd @ Bedford Canyon Rd. at 7:30pm. We will then head up to Santiago peak by 8pm.

People from OC can either meet at Corona or Ortega Hwy at 7:30pm and head up to Santiago peak.

We can all meet at the peak then take a run to Beeks Cabin then back to the Main Divide and out to Ortega or out through Corona if all have the time. We will be using Channel 4 for anyone with a CB.

What is the off ramp for the Werick Road / Bedford Canyon Entrance? I tried googling it, but nothing pops up? I'm coming from OC and never gone this route up the mountain before.
