Bull frog and cake walk are the two main trails at couger buttes, both fun , lots of rock, not too tough, but you can make it challenging with some tough lines. Getting hot out there now, we run them at night during the summer.
Two good trails out there as listed, there are more but for the most part these are the ones that are done. They cross each other many times and it is easy to get on the wrong trail.
Wouldn't recommend it right now unless you were starting at 5 AM. BF takes about 2-3 hrs to get through, only 1.5 miles long I believe. Some good waterfalls... no water in them and one obstacle where you gotta turn the jeep on the rock rail to get around the corner. Couple of Vee notches too.
I love me some Cougar Buttes. Being in Yucaipa, I'm in Big Bear often and enjoy every bit of it but I think Cougar Buttes may just be might favorite semi-local wheelin spot.
The two aforementioned trails provide a bunch of challenging lines if you're up for them and plenty of bypass opportunities if needed. Oh, and the rocks are covered in grip tape I think...
That's looks like some good stuff...we are lucky to live in this area where we can hit the desert in winter and the mountains in summer. I would be in for a trip....
