Hey all. I live in San Jose and i'm a jeeper since 2013. I see more and more Jeeps just driving around the town. I just wanted to know who is my neighbor and introduce myself. It would be cool if we can get together locally just to have some talk at the coffee shop or cruise/off road in the near future. Feel free to introduce yourself and leave a pic of your Jeep.
Mountain View here. Got my new old JK end of last year. Lived in NorCal for 4 years and only started noticing how many Wranglers there were on the road after I bought mine. Weird how they blend into the sea of cars until you own one, then they pop out like a sore thumb.
29, Vince.
Like I said I just got my Jeep so haven't taken it off road yet. These wheelin trips posted here usually newb friendly?
Vince, look up the safety clinic hosted by Esprit De Four (a San Jose 4x4 club) at Hollister Hills. That is how I started out. They do a great job. They hold them in May and September. There are a lot more runs in SoCal.
Vince if you want to get your feet wet, you can join me for some off road trip. We have Hollister Hills an hour away and its good place for beginners and advance crawlers- you can choose what to do.
As NorCalRey said, its a good idea to participate off road 101 in May. I may join that as well.
Prairie City in Folsom is another good place to get familiar with your rig, but I'd imagine Hollister is closer for you. Our group tries to do runs once a month.
We talked before. I am looking forward to joining one of your runs soon if you don't mind. I keep checking the NorCal jeep wrangler forum link that you sent. Hope to meet you soon.
Definitely going to do the safety clinic in a few months. Was just told registration opens 6 weeks prior to the event. Moonrider, awesome thanks! This snow run sounds fun, you free the following weekend?
Camping? You guys are brave souls! Lol! One of our crew likes camping in just about any weather/conditions. Not sure if he's going, but if he does, I'm sure he'll join you!
I'm leaving the Bay Area Friday at 8:30pm if my girlfriend joins me. Around 2:30 if she doesn't or can take the day off (she's driving up from SoCal).
I just realized she'll be bringing her dog if she comes, so I guess that means we'll be camping Friday and Saturday night. Guess I should start looking for camping spots. I'll post details in case anyone else wants to join!
Cedric here and I live in Monterey. I was just at Hollister Hills on on the 3rd. I have a 93 YJ 2.5. Hit me up if you ever want to hit the trails 831.320.4845
You guys up for a Hollister trip around mid February? I have a friend with a Power Wagon that would go also. There is easy to hard stuff there so something for everyone.
Im in if its on Sunday. I could take Saturday off, but i'm already asking to miss this Saturday(wrestling tournament) and next Saturday for a snow run.
Subbed... From San Jose. My Wrangler is on order and should be due sometime in the next three weeks! I'll definitely be up for a trip to Hollister once I get the new Jeep.
i could go any Sunday. i can't do Saturdays. By the way, some small group of local jeepers are going to Hollister this Sunday march 1st. i might go as well. And if you guys wanna go on 8th or 15th, i might go again
I'm down to go March 14th. Where are meeting and the time? If you want we can rally up at this parking lot in San Juan Bautista. There is a market in case you want to grab some last minute items to eat. I will be coming from Monterey.
