Looks like a 3.5 hr. drive from Visalia taking Hwy 59 thru Merced and Snelling .

You can stay at the Bear Valley lodge (closest) or you can stay in one of the several smaller hotels in Arnold.

How far is Arnold from the trail head? I know Angels Camp is an hour.

its 40-50 minutes depending on how fast you can get your jeep to go up those hills
