Xjrichard and I made a last minute trip up the hill today and hit Gold Mountain with the kiddies for a little wheelin and sledding. Not much snow at the Hwy 18 start off point but as we got closer to the peak there was about 5" or so. The north facing side had a bit more.
Wheelin-wise it was really uneventful. The long rocky shelf section (after the first waterfall) was a bit slippery and the only place we got out of the Jeeps until we got to the top and let the kids out to play.
Overall it was a great little trip. Incredibly beautiful up there right now. Richard busted out the mini-burner and made excellent coffee and then hot chocolate for the little guys - who had the most fun of all. Piping hot coffee and hot cocoa at 8k ft. was pretty awesome :thumb:
I took many pics w my camera but I'm too lazy to upload them right now. I also took a few w my phone which I'll post here.
I'm definitely looking forward to future snow trips! :thumb:
