I am very interested in going, my Dad may join as well. That is assuming you don't mind a ZJ and MJ tagging along We've been wanting to do a trip like this for a long time.

Need to check schedule and will let you know.

Any pics of the MJ and ZJ that you can post a link to? I've owned both in the past and love them.

I can't find any pics of my Dad's MJ at the moment. She's a bit rough around the edges but a stout truck none-the-less.

Here's my ZJ (60GrandZJ)

And my old MJ (LastMJ)

Very nice!! I actually was really impressed with my ZJ. That 5.2 could pull a full size truck out of the dunes with no problem.

May in the Desert is usually awesome weather. 80's during day and 50's at night. It could get warmer though. Make sure you have plenty if water! Enjoy your trip!

Hey FoxSat71…looking forward to it.

As raythom3 said the weather is going to be fantastic. Be sure to bring a bundle or two of fire wood!

We are also having a potluck…let me know the dish you would like to share with folks.

Hey joe, I will most likely bring a pot of Chili; it travels well, easy to prepare, and everything in a single pot. Its perfect. 10:4 on the wood. Carlos

What's the gas situation for refueling? Is it mandatory to have extra fuel aboard for this trip based on the route?

Not to derail the thread or topic...

At they local long beach jeep meet, we were all talking about this trip, but the general consensus was, if it were a fri-sun trip it would allow others to make it, and near impossible for anyone to legitimately make it mid week. Just a thought.

@unboundmo

I'd recommend bringing extra gas. I always carry 5 extra gallons on the Mojave Road. We can refuel in Avi on Wednesday. Other folks will have extra gas as well. If anyone runs out we should good to go.

Will you be able to make it?

@Jeep Matt

Fortunately for me I was able to utilize a portion of my vacation days to allow a Monday - Thursday dirt trip then end it with lounging in Vegas for the weekend.

We legitimately have about 5 rigs going from Expo and 2 or 3 from this site. Plus I wanted to make sure folks had enough time to plan/request time off which is why I posted this with 4 months lead time.

So far.. Still interested. I have to fab up some racks for fuel on the spare tire carrier. Bestop doesn't make one..

I'll peobably be solo too.. Three nights camping is a little extreme for my wife.... And I don't want her yelling in my ear about my driving off road.... She can watch the dogs too

Okay.. I submitted the time off at work and talk to my manager...

Wife is staying home.. But I think that's best anyway.. My stepdad is in her place now for passenger...

So count us in... (2)

For the pot luck..... I was going to go to Boston Market and buy like 40 corn breads for us. 10 rigs.. 20+/- people thinking. 2 each..... But let me know... Actually, I don't know if they'll sell to me but then, everything is for sale...

Anyway.. Looking forward to it..

Ps.. I decided to go with EZ-Rack for the extra gas racks.. Made by rock-slider engineering.... I was thinking to make them myself but...

Anyone have any feedback on this product?
