Question So whos all going to PVD this year?

PVD or Panamint Valley Days will be held November 8-10 near Trona CA again this year and it's the 28th time it's been held. I went last year and had a great time and the club I belong to, The Gear Grinders 4WD Club, will be the trail boss for several runs each day. I will be taking my little camp trailer and be there for all 3 days. Might even have my daughter with me depending on her work and school load.

So whos in??

I really want to go. My birthdays on the 8th so it seems like a good excuse. My trailer won't be done for a long time though. I've never been there so hows the tent camping? What are the good trails to do? Defense Mine and Isham Cyn look cool.

I'm pretty sure I've already asked these questions somewhere but can't remember, oh well.

It could be cold and windy so plan accordingly but the camping area is huge! I am new to 4 wheeling so a lot of the trails are new to me but I want to do the Defense Mine run and some others.

My YJ was not equiped to do Isham so I have no idea what that one is like but it's on my list! Hope to see you there!

BTW happy early birthday!!

The main camp/stageing area is more towards Ballaratt than the lake if that is what your asking.

Defense is a cool run plus you can explore the mine if the run includes Cummings cutoff your in for a treat of rocks and waterfall zero. Isham is rated possible body damage .
All trails will be little more rocky due to summer rains

A little cold never hurt. Maybe we will see about the motorhome though, hehe. I think we'll be there.

I think we are.. Where's the sign up? Or sign up there? I guess it would be a good time to become a Cal4wheel member.

What trails are you doing?

More rocky.. I like the sound of that! I've never done these trails but from pics/vids I've seen it looks like they give some challenges

This is all I've got...

Isham is a lot of fun. However, even the easy trails in the Panamints are pretty cool. Lots of great scenery and history. Many of the trail leads are very knowledgeable of the area...so if you have any questions talk to them.

Maybe one of these days they will open the bridge back up

p

the money as been allocated to the county for rebuilding the bridge that connects Pleasant Canyon and South Park....I've heard that maybe as early as 1st quarter 2014...but I'm sure its only a matter of time though.

JC we will be there for 5 days of runs...I'm not sure what runs we will do for the event...it depends on what is offered but we will run Isham , Defence mine along with C Cutoff and Stone Canyon....we will also run Goler wash up to Barkers ranch and on up to Stripped Butt , South Park on up to Chicken rock, Pleasant Canyon and stop at Rita's cabon then on up to Mangle pass and on over to Middle Park, hopefully Jail canyon.
Now I also know that some of us Want to see Lookout City and the Minieta mine
Like I said....we'll make sure that you get your moneys worth...

Mike and I will be there I just got my welcome package from Cal 4-wheelers and have to talk to Dwight & Lynda so I know what to sign up for. I'm so looming forward to this!!

I plan on finding you Steve, I will fake it a point to finally meet the infamous WokNRox, lol. We're taking the motorhome and towing the TJ. My daughter hasn't given me an answer if they are going, if so they will drive my JKU and tow the camp trailer.

Right on....it'll be nice to meet you guys..
Make sure you order your shirts...so they will be at the event. Plus if you want the BBQ dinner make sure you order that too...because it is VERY good and always run out.
All runs will be posted at the event.

I'm pretty sure Cal4wheel will be at the Expo this weekend so I will sign up then. Maybe they will have signups for PVD there too? It's looking like I can be there Friday and leave Monday.

BTW thanks for the info on BBQ and the shirts.

moabrubi, you can go to the cal 4 wheel web site and do your signup.

www.cal4wheel.com/ca4wdc-store and look on the right for event registration.

As I am sure you are aware there are certain things you do in life that you just simply can't take back.

This may be one of them.

They will be selling more tickets for the poison Spyder jeep giveaway there too, I'm saving my change to buy another stack . It's the best way to make my donation to Cal 4-wheelers

I'm broke enough as it is.. Another Jeep would kill me! Although I will say that Jeep was very nice.
