SoCal: new to WF and Jeeping need a good first trail!

Good day,
I am a Marine home on leave from Oki, Japan and I decided to buy my first Jeep. (I'll be stationed back in Oceanside in June permanently) I bought an '05 TJ sport with under 50k miles, a 4 inch lift, superchip, smitty built front, rear and rock sliders and 35 inch tires. Needless to say SHES TO PRETTY and I need to go pop her cherry! I threw a high lift jack on it n I just need a trail to take her on. Any advice for a local newb? I live in corona, if you live local and want to go out let me know I'm excited to take her out!
Thanks!

Azusa OHV for starters. thats where i got my foot wet. I think its $8 for a day open on weekends only. Easy enough to wheel alone.

Go to the california thread for upcoming runs.

Try going with the group going to Seven oaks this weekend, it's under the thread "Turdhudlers 40th birthday bash". They will be going to the Big Bear Area

I'll send you a shout next time I go.

Welcome!

You have more than enough of those "pre-req's" to make this trip. The one thing you will find with these forum people (and every other Jeeper I have ever met) is that NOBODY IS LEFT BEHIND! They will get you through. Go for it jarhead! Ooh Rah & Semper Fi....1965 to 1968 "Old Corps"

He's leaving on the 16th Geoff. I bet your jeep would Breeze thru the Pontiac sluice/Heartbreak ridge run as is. Last time we had a F250 crew cab and a bunch of stock jeep newbies. No one got left. Everyone drove off the mountain. It's just not that tough a trail.

Semper Fi sir! Thank you for your service. I don't have the CB or first aid/fire extinguisher. I just picked up some JKS quick discos that I'll be throwing on so I'm not worried about the jeep more about the safety equipment

Jeff says if you have recovery hooks front and rear which all JK's should have stock then your welcome to come. They will stick you somewhere in the middle. No Cb or FE needed. They would love to get you on a trail before you go back out.

Odds are quite likely there will be no injury requiring emergency first aid. And in the unlikely event that such an event did occur, there are more than enough first aid kits to tie off your vain while they drag you off to the ER. Sooooo (in the strongest possible terms) I highly recommend you try to make this trip. I can all but guarantee that you will not regret having done so.
NO STRESS, EH!!

I see it I just don't understand with the 20+ pages of conversation. If I only came up for the day Saturday where would I go and when should I plan to be there?
Still not sure what to bring/wear. I'm sorry I need it so Barney style!

Let's see if I can get you dialed in my man. Start with this............
Seven Oaks Mountain Resort
39950 7 Oaks Rd, Angelus Oaks, CA 92305 »
Map (909) 794-2917
Assuming someone answers the phone, they should be accustom to giving directions on how to find their location. My directions would be to find your way to Redlands and head north up State route 38 (thru Mentone) and up the mountain like 8 or 10 miles towards Big Bear. About the time you get to the top of the hill, you will see Angeles Oaks on your left side. That will be pretty close to where you need to be. If I understand correctly, they will be leaving camp at 09:00 hours heading for the trail. Someone will likely fine tune my instructions, but that should get you close. You may want to try to be a little early to adjust for the confusion factor.
