socal shops for gears???

Hey guys long time no see, been savin up and wondering if you know of any cheap shops where I can get 4.56 gears installed in my yj. I found two places so far and 1 wanted to charge me 1,000 and the other 1,400 and both were for installing and getting the gears for me. unfortunately one is pretty pricey and the other doesn't seem so trust worthy.

I've heard good things about Off Road Evolution in Fullerton. They charge around $1,000 to regear a JK. I don't know about for a YJ if it should be much different.

$1K for labor is outrageous, $550 or so is more typical. The last time I had my R&P gears replaced was here in northern San Diego county and it was just under $1100 which included all parts and labor. Offroad Warehouse in Escondido is where I had my last regearing done.

Don't buy the gears on your own to give to the shop to install. If you do and something goes wrong after they are installed, you will be SOL on getting them replaced under warranty. The shop will just blame the gears YOU gave them and the gear supplier will blame the installer who is normally the cause of a post-installation problem. Then, even if you can get the gears replaced under warranty, the shop will want to charge you again for labor because, remember, they would have blamed the gears you provided them... not their labor.

Brothers 4 x 4 in Montclair. This is where I have been going to have my work done and they are fair and stand behind everything they do.

I'm getting mine done this weekend at RWKhaus. They are charging 975 for 4.56 Yukon gears, new bearings and labor. But I'm having them throw in 33 spline yukon chromoly shafts and a arb locker in the rear total out the door price is 3g.

They are out of Yorba Linda. If you want pm me and ill get you the guys info who is going to be doing the work for me so you can ask him any questions that you have.

The $1K that Off Road Evolution charges includes gears.
