I actually did this last week. Having too many attachments, I have to go off site to host more photos.

Anyway, I made some new sliders for the TJ. I used 3/16" plate for the uprights and 1/4" plate for the bottom plates. I did a lot of measuring, twice. Using my Hypertherm 380, I trimmed the plates to size, made the notches and cut-outs. Then I drilled all the bolt holes to 3/8" and fitted the plates to the TJ, tacked them together and took them off. I welded the plates together with my Lincoln SP100. I used 1/2" x 3" x 9" pieces for the rear end where the tub rises and drilled through holes. I also stitch welded a 1/8" x 3/4" x 3/4" angle to the inside for added support. I used 1-1/2" Sch10 pipe for the rail. Cutting two 90º elbows in half gave me four 45º pieces. I then made a temporary jig and tack welded the tube rails together, grind and sand the welds smooth and then welded them to the upright plates. After priming, I made sure the fit was good and painted the inside with Rustoleum. I only flogged the outside because I used the truck bed liner for the final coat. I went to Home Depot and bought some rubber floor kick guards in black. I matched drilled bigger holes for the nutserts and used 3M spray glue to hold them in place.

Here are a couple pictures of the end product.

Anyone have any ideas on a removable step for the wife. I have a folding stool but, she may be driving it's so role for a while after we sell the suburban. She will not be able to get the stool in and set it up when she gets out of the jeep.

One of the ladies in our club has a small step stool that she ties a small rope to and just pulls it up when she gets in. She only needs it on the drivers side, she can get in the passenger side no problem.

Would that work?

Thats what my grandfather did when he drove my Jeep. Worked really well. Needs to be folding though so they can hide it under the seat or similar place.

Yes..check out the one that "Hard Rock" has for sale...it's a clever product. They were selling them like hotcakes at Moab this year.
The step is removable and hangs off the side of the door jam. Then when not in use it fits nicely in the space between the seat and the door.

I got my rear driveshaft from JEReel a nice 1350 unit, and some lower LCA skids and they cut my front bumper down so I have a clear shot at the rocks.

Ya I looked all over for it and couldn't find any information on it.
You may just have to call Rock Hard 4x4 to inquire about it.

Front and rear driveshafts rebuilt, front and rear 4.56 gears, rear locker, new ujoints, and fluid changes in transfer case and engine. I can't seem to get the grease and dirt off my hands this time

Dooz85 those covers look good. I've got one on my Dana 30. Yellow spider on black background

I have a gallon of orange getting dusty in the garage. Not good for heavy grease. HB has latex gloves cheap.

Minor stuff today. Tinkered with the CB radio setup. Wasn't receiving any transmissions, so checked all the connections (the coax had come a little loose) and broke out the SWR meter to re-tune the antenna. Workin' great now!

Also swapped out my transfer case knob to match the shifter (which I had to replace a couple months ago when the crappy stock knob broke!). Nearly hit myself in the face yanking the old knob off. Thankfully nobody around to witness my graceful maneuvers, ha.

Waiting on my new wheels to come in to put on my new 33s. Waiting somewhat patiently. OK... maybe not so patiently, actually. Not coming in till sometime in July, dangit!

Finally got around to getting Chrysler to pony up and replace my cracked D/S exhaust manifold. I hate other people working on my stuff.... Saved me a few hundred bucks in parts, at least....

I'm not sure I can join all of you on the beach next Saturday, but I may come to dinner just to see your jeep!
