Stoddard Valley???

Anyone spent any time at the Stoddard Valley OHV area? Is it worth a trip?

Worth a trip? Yes I think so. Nothing really hard core but some fun little obstacles if you go looking. Some old quarries to explore. Nice hill climbs, hidden mines to look for.

Thanks... Just looking for quick day trips to keep the tires dirty... Was playing around in the calico mountains a while back and passed by stoddard valley ... It looked busy ... Didn't know if I was missing something ...

It can be dangerous out there too.

Pretty sure this happened at the annual High Desert Clean up _ Memorial Day weekend event a couple of years ago.

Ouch! I feel for that guy. Was a nice rig. Just goes to show ya, $hit can happen on any trail; it doesn't need to be a hardcore. Not a Ton of damage but still sucks! Nobody was seriously hurt, so at least that's good.

Glad they were able to walk away from that ... a testament to Jeep I suppose. I watched a Chevy do the same thing at a hill climb at Dumont a few years back. He wasn't as fortunate.

I think he did. I have watched it several times and it looks to me like both rear wheels are spinning at the same time in several spots.

Wow, crazy! I was there with a group from another forum and this happened on the exact same hill!....

The driver broke a couple of ribs from getting sucked under the door. Otherwise just bumps and bruises. The Jeep went off the trail and stopped by getting hung up on a rock just feet from the edge of a pretty gnarly rock drop off.

We winched it up the hill w/ 3 rigs and got it back down and on a trailer. Coulda been WAY worse.

Sorry the driver was injured, but in this case it was really driver error.

Oh, totally agree. When we got to the Jeep in its final resting spot we found it to be in neutral.....
