My jeep sleeps in my garage. If somebody really wants it he needs to outnumber my double 00 buck shotgun.....

Can you with the alarm set a parameter on your iPhone and see if it would be moved outside of it? I have viper on my truck...

Good, now get a good hood lock that's not visible so they don't lift your hood somehow (just in case) and disconnect the battery before they steal it...and a brake club.

Good for you! Jeep owners are a different breed. Knowing me, I'd legally pack a gun ... Bullet to protect me, my Jeep and my dogs.

Liars and thieves; the worst God created.

That's crazy! It's such a quiet place. I would have never suspected that. One of my co workers lives on the left side and that's how I found out about and immidiately fell in love with it. I don't have a gun but I might have to start carrying. When I walk my dog I always leave my doors unlock. Crazy...

So it does fit? My TJ with the safari rack was too tall... Hopefully next jeep will fit and won't be too much trouble. Looking for an LJ or JK.

It fits but I don't have a safari rack on my JK. I'm actually gonna work on my JK today and it will be partially in the garage. I have the 4' firestik and I don't feel like taking it off. I'm going to blacken out the turn and bumper lenses. Stop by if you want to check it out.

Darn wish I would have seen the post early. I flew in late in the evening. Didn't get to enjoy my afternoon like I should've. Nice would have loved to help! I'm driving a rental now a Mercedes cl 250. Fast as hell and rally quick handles pretty amazing but I don't like it.

Yes I do have full coverage. I'm still waiting on the claim and for the insurance to come up with the value of the jeep plus the parts. Should be in the next couple of days and then wait for them to pay

Sorry for your loss! I live in Clairemont and do alot of driving so we'll be keepin an eye out. I was talking another guy out here that said someone tried to steal his black LJ in front of Von's in Clairemont square in the middle of the day!! He walked out and found his jeep in the middle of the lane with the doors open. He said hood lock, alarm, and a hidden kill switch will give a bit more of a piece of mind.

YES! Exactly ! And is why I'll be getting a hood lock; $40 you guys! Cheap....they have the ones you can't see......and I already have the alarm and kill switch...brake club is on the way too...it all helps!!

Glad for your friend!

I went ahead and gave them a call. The Lojac system alone is close to $750 (one time, no recurring charges), and their "Early Warning system" (that calls, texts, emails you as soon as an unauthorized movement is detected) is an additional $250 (one time). I did NOT ask if those were "installed" prices.

If like Gunner for example, you have in excess of $60K into your rig, that might be a pretty darn good investment. I'm sure you would find a couple of San Diego people who would be in total agreement.

I had LoJack on my firebird. Just keep in mind that once the LoJack is installed into a vehicle, ts tied to their vin number and not transferable. I think ^^^those prices are installed .

Ohhh hell yeah! Lol I switched the Mercedes for a jeep compass lol what a difference. It's quick too but no torque. I actually like it but I had test drove the patriot before and liked it even more. So from renting I have learned so much. lol btw the 2014 grand Cherokee is a sexy beast. I had that one for a week and jeep definitely payed attention to detail. Everything worked and ran really smooth. I loved it. An awesome car / SUV.

Yeah I have already a coupe of jeeps in mind even one from the forum. Still set primarily on an LJ or JK unlimited but a ready to wheel TJ rubicon is really tempting. But until geico pays I don't know what I will be able to get

What do you mean? everyone keeps telling me it's either parted out or in Tijuana. I haven't closed my doors to it but I'm aware and almost positive that it's not going to turn up. I just want a plan a, b, and c.

Get Ravelco

The thing some of the JustRuns 4WD Club guys in San Diego do is remove the 'RUBICON' lettering from their TJ/LJ Wrangler hood and install Ravelco for about $500.

A coworker of mine lost hers from the company parking lot. I'm not sure it had the passive immobilization but it makes me really paranoid. Even parking in front of the cameras isn't good enough.

Crooked people...

Can you find out if she had any anti theft device and if so what did she had?
Thanks

It was a 2002 and no added anti-theft, just the passive immobilization

Any idea if locking hood latches will prevent thieves from bypassing the passive immobilization? Or can they bypass it from the cab?
