Sunday Feb 7 - CLEGHORN! THE HARD(er) WAY

Cleghorn is getting a little boring, so let's do it "the hard(er) way"!

Sunday, Feb 7 we will be doing Cleghorn "backwards" - hitting all obstacles, then turning around and going back to do them all again - finishing where we started. Most obstacles have bypasses, BUT NOT ALL. Particularly going through "Pucker Pass" near 138, where it is very steep and VERY rutted-out and off-camber.

Requirements:
Minimum 33' tires and 2inch lift recommended.
Lockers will be helpful but not required.
Vehicles that do not have good articulation may not do well through the extremely rutted and off-camber areas.
CB radio is helpful but not required.

We will be meeting at the parking area behind Silverwood Lake on Highway 138 at 9AM and rolling out no later than 9:30. We should be finishing at the same spot by 3PM or 4PM.
For those that need to be home early there is an early escape-route: At the half-way point, where we turn around to head back in the opposite direction you can take the (easy) fire-road down to Interstate 15. This would put you at the interseciton of Hwy 138 and Interstate 15 at around 1PM.

When:
Sunday, February 7
Meeting at 9AM, rolling-out at 9:30

Where:
Take Interstate 15 to the Highway 138 exit. Take 138 toward Silverwood 8.8 miles to the parking area next to Silverwood Lake.

I'm in, hope the brake lock diff makes up for the lack of locker. i'll have my rear locker installed at the end of Feb or mid March, tax return pending :)
This run looks fun as hell, this are some people doing it a couple of weeks ago

Bill G, is that Jeep of yours finally ready? I've been a frustrated onlooker since I joined this forum a while ago, anticipating your journey with the new Jeep, LOL! I don't think we ever met, but I'm anxious to see this monster you've been building. Can't make this trip, because we have a Superbowl party to attend, and I'm doing a few pounds of smoked salmon in the morning. Another time. Have fun!

It's shaping up to be a decent sized group!
Dont forget we are meeting/starting at "the end", in the parking area on 138, just past the new bridge/construction near the lake, where we would normally finish. Check the map link for the exact spot.
See everyone Sunday.

Thanks one more time for leading the way Randy, absolutely a blast doing Cleghorn backwards, nice to meet new faces, everything worked great, the rigs, the day, the weather, superbowl..
I skipped the chute, only offshot i didn't do, kept thinking i didn't have the clearance, or at least was the best excuse i had to leave that one for next time :)
I'll post some pics in a few.

Cool, sounds like it will be very nice. What size lift? If it's any consolation on the shocks, I ran the RS 9000s on my TJ and thought they were great. I didn't really see a huge improvement when I went to the Fox w reservoir. The only drawback on the Rancho was the dial adjuster.
