This trip is costing me some $$$. Not necessarily more than any other... but nonetheless its given me reason to be in debt again.

The only thing I would be wary of is mag capacity and carrying it on your person. I don't know how these laws work since you are from out of state. If u have a permit in AZ, I don't know if that allows u to CC in CA. Just some things to possibly look into so if u are stopped you don't get in trouble

Permit? We don't need no stinking permit in the wild west! I think I can conceal without a permit now. Shoot, legal to carry on the hip in a bar!

Hey gang, it looks like a Wrangler is small on space... haha. I am wondering if anyone is able to bring a small table for our event. I hope to fit a table into my Heep but it appearsi will be a bit tight on space. Thank you in advance.

Firewood... Uhm, guys have you heard of these really cool things called trees? Little elbow grease and an axe and you are set. Don't even have to see thongs on unsettling people at Walmart. Maybe a naked deer or chipmunk but jeez!

I'll be bringing a table, but rules state that only alcohol is allowed on this table.

Here are California's rules about transporting guns:

HANDGUNS

California Penal Code section 12025 does not prevent a citizen of the United States over 18 years of age who is not lawfully prohibited from firearm possession, and who resides or is temporarily in California, from transporting by motor vehicle any pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person provided the firearm is unloaded and stored in a locked container.

The term "locked container" means a secure container which is fully enclosed and locked by a padlock, key lock, combination lock, or similar locking device. This includes the trunk of a motor vehicle, but does not include the utility or glove compartment. For more information, refer to California Penal Code Section 12026.1.

SHOTGUNS AND RIFLES

Nonconcealable firearms (rifles and shotguns) are not generally covered within the provisions of California Penal Code section 12025 and therefore are not required to be transported in a locked container. However, as with any firearm, nonconcealable firearms must be unloaded while they are being transported. A rifle or shotgun that is defined as an assault weapon pursuant to Penal Code 12276 or 12276.1 must be transported in accordance with Penal Code section 12026.1.

That really sucks! Curious how that turns out -- if insurance pays it or what?

Do you still have the '01 Cherokee in your signature? Just bring that!

Well then perhaps we should all bring along our toys and have some top gun shooting contests. I will be ready to go. Or are we talking hand guns. If that is the case well then I will still be ready to go.

I just checked the weather and it looks like it is cooling down a little but still good.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy and breezy, with a low around 52.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy and breezy, with a low around 46.

Sunday: A slight chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 61.

The weather channel had it about 10 degrees warmer from the zip code on the Calico website, is this zip code different from where we are staying?

I enter "Calico Ghost Town Regional Park" into weather.com or The Weather Channel app. It's not showing rain, but gotta be prepared for it on Sunday anyway because rain won't be far away.

I'm thinking after Saturday's trail run, and before I get too drunk, I'm putting the top and doors back on.
