It would be nice to be a bit more lifted, but you shouldn't have any problems on Bull. You also didn't mention any armor? I would recommend having some protection to prevent any body damage. If all goes well at Dishpan, you will enjoy JB as well...

Per your profile, it's a stock Rubi with 2.5" lift and factory 32" wheels?

If so, you can make it on both, but will struggle. Armor and 35's would be suggested for both.

Armor: Aftermarket diff covers, skids such as the Evo 3 piece to cover most of the essentials. LCA skids would also be a good idea (I only have front LCA skids so far).

I did Dishpan last year during BBFF on 33's with only a front locker, but had all the armor. I made it fine, but did take the side road to the left to bypass the big waterfall. I held off on John Bull until I got 35's though.

Not sure if I'm gonna be up there on Friday ... or just day trip it on Saturday ... but if I'm up there on Friday I'd like to jump in on a Holcomb run!

Heck if things stay the way they are now we can do it both ways and join group 3 on Holcomb Especially if there is more carnage on Dishpan.
Oh never mind the last statement he has an automatic now

I am still intimated or traumatized by Dishpan falls and I'm not sure if I was doing that run if I would be going to the right.

Bill, I saw your picture in Stan's office today of you right before you flopped. Thats a pretty tricky spot you were in.

Yeah, I am trying to get that pic replaced...I had just watched Stan in a JKU make a few approaches before crossing it, but I got in a hurry it's actually the easy part after climbing the gatekeeper....

I'd say wait until you get some more done -- armor and some larger wheels. I've seen stock Rubi's do it, but it's a struggle.

I dunno. Looked pretty intimidating last year. I'll have to decide when I get there. Now that I'm comfortable with the waterfalls at Calico, might be more likely to do it.

Should I replace it with a black JKu on its side?

Once I get my axles done up, I will put on my big boy pants and join you on the really tough trails so I can be part of the Cool Club.

My wife is dropping off your new axle shaft at the Post Office this morning in hopes you might get it a little quicker...

Doug- I'd hate for you to be alone. I volunteer to go with you.
I thought I was picking the easier of the "difficult" runs? I believe this is the ONLY time I may not follow Bill.

Ted,

With the right group and a good spotter you can make J Bull and this is the right group. But I would stick to trail 3, Dishpan & Holcomb Creek, that will be a lot to handle in a day right there.

Rick has a video of me doing Dishpan last year in my Rubi (like yours) with 33s and that same 2.5 lift. No prob with a really good spotter.

Do you have a winch yet? I used mine twice last time. Great investment.

I'm not sure that I'm going to able to make this event, something came up. I will post and let you know after the weekend.

I agree! Need to cut off the brackets in the front axle, then have Stan do the welding for the new brackets.
